As time passes I realize that I have been fairly absent on this page. Sadly, I cannot leave this page open to allow people a chance to communicate. I have to turn off commenting or the solicitors, BYB's, and puppy mill scammers take their opportunities to spam it. I'll work on a way to get this page going again, . I'm very happy to say that one of my client's have matched wonderfully for this puppy. Thank you so much everyone for the lovely comments and to those who have shown interest in being involved. Showing a puppy isn't for everyone, I appreciate anyone who is open to enjoying any sport with their dog.

My internet and phones are back up!
I had a break in my Cogeco lines, affecting my internet and phones since Monday June 26th. Not too impressed with the length of time it took them to send a technician out. However I am happy to be up and running again.

Keep your dogs safe this summer.
The diagram below indicates a critical level of heatstroke, there are several signs of overheating that you should be aware of so that your dog doesn’t reach this stage of critical emergency.

Limit daytime bathroom breaks to 5 minutes. Don’t risk getting distracted… go outside with your dog! Being outside with your dog is the only way to know that they’re safe.

Exercise your dog at night or early morning. Spray with water to keep them cool, but watch your dog for signs of overheating.

Signs of overheating:
• Rapid panting
• Bright pink gums and tongue
• eyes squinted or pulled back with ears pulled back.
• Standing with head down, or flopping side to side on the floor.

Dogs cool down by panting; however they cannot cool down when it’s humid. Humidity is just as dangerous as the heat. Rapid panting is a sign of overheating. Breath will be shallow and fast.
Your dog cannot cool down by drinking, but they will want to drink excessive amounts of water... DON’T LET THEM! They could put themselves at risk of developing “water intoxication” or “bloat”.

What you can do to cool your dog:
Offer small drinks or ice cubes through the cooling process. Give electrolytes.
Place cooling cloths around the groin, ge****ls, underarms, head, neck & ears. Put a fan on them.
Give a tepid bath or shower, you can add a little cool water gradually as the dog’s temperature will heat the tub. Body temperature should be cooled gradually. NEVER DUNK YOUR DOG IN COLD WATER!
Do not allow the dog to exercise or return to the heat until they’ve cooled down. Do not feed them!
Check your dog’s temperature.

Every dog owner should have a re**al thermometer in their first aid kit. To take your dog’s temperature you must insert the thermometer into the re**um to the point of where the thermometer neck widens. If the thermometer is not in the re**um far enough you will not get an accurate reading (false low).

Have electrolytes on hand. You can get this in a powder form made for pets, or you can use Pedialyte unflavoured and unsweetened. Be sure to check the label as many electrolyte drinks have sweeteners added that are not safe for your dog.
You can make electrolyte ice cubes. Mix Pedialyte with a small amount of low sodium chicken stock for flavour.
