T-3 hours… We’re so excited to have for another Schutzhund Seminar Weekend starting tonight! It’s WAY overdue. Like a year overdue. For everyone who’s registered, keep your eyes peeled for a schedule (being sent out shortly) ✨

✨ Ot Voskhod Alma’s A’Gretal ✨

Gretel was picked up this morning and is heading back to her home out-of-state, after spending several days boarding with us while her human got to spend some time with family, locally.

During her stay it was crucial she was kept in an experienced, clean, safe, and structured environment where her sport conditioning could be kept up with. Malinois, Schutzhund, treadmill training? Right up our alley! 🤗

Gretel and her human will be competing in Schutzhund in Greece, May 2025. She is representing Team USA alongside 6 others. Stay tuned to our stories and page on how you can support them, and the rest of the team, on this exciting journey! Wish them luck in the meantime 🤍

Tab leashes are a product we use daily here in our training programs whether for puppies, adults, sport dogs, protection dogs and everything in between! Great for a quick grab without going for the collar, avoiding the “flinch reflex”, subtle correction, redirection, and so much more. We use it most for reinforcing bed command without the dogs feeling like they’re attached to a big clunky leash, we use it plenty in Schutzhund training, and of course with our Protection Dogs 🌟

Reason number 847392 why I will never go to a dog park.

And yes, this is entirely acceptable to shoot another dog, if they are attacking your dog. I’ll leave my personal opinions out of it for now and stay factual, but it is acceptable and allowed.

Control your animals and don’t set them up for failure.

A dog is dead after being shot by another dog owner at an Apollo Beach dog park on Monday night, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Welcome to the WK9 fam, Jason!

If you’ve been around the past few weeks - or following us on IG - you’ve probably seen Jason by now! Time for a formal intro…

His journey began with fostering dogs with severe to extreme temperaments, over a decade ago. Jason’s been blessed to work with many phenomenal internationally recognized trainers from pet dogs to PSA sport training – and more recently getting in to Schutzhund training with one of his personal dogs: a Dutch Shepherd named Damien. Coming all the way from beautiful California, we’re so happy to have him here in sunny Florida as a part of The Working K9 team.

SECURED! What a way to end the year; Echo (not our breeding) & Laika (from our A Litter breeding) are SOLD!

They’ll be going to the same home, Echo will continue on his road to Personal Protection Dog & Laika will be continuing her training as a Deterrent Dog & Active Pet.

What started as a simple inquiry turned in to double trouble in the best way for everyone involved. They’ll be staying with us until February when the hand-over happens. Training will continue until then! Luckily, even after they go home, they’ll be here often as they are local!

The Christmas gift Pan’s been waiting for: his forever human! To be quite honest, I think every single person who’s been here since we got him, has been eagerly waiting the perfect person to sn**ch him up. With over 50 applications for this handsome man, it finally happened: a perfect match!

Congrats to on his new four-legged member! Pancake and him have been BFFs since the moment they met - and even better, now his dog Daisy loves Pancake too!
