Meet Joker — formerly known as Hans (not the one we just placed, ha!).

While we’re known for offering top-quality working dogs with exceptional pedigrees, health testing, and training… some of you may know that we also support local shelters and rescues behind the scenes with donations, event sponsorships, training and placement of working breeds 🤓

Joker came to us through the , a shelter we support through donations, event sponsorships, and occasional dog placements (pull, train, adopt). He’s a young, neutered male Belgian Malinois who had multiple returns before we stepped in.

Joker is a classic Malinois — high drive, food and toy motivated, and full of energy. He’s best suited for an active and knowledgable pet home. We’re still getting to know him, so his profile will be updated as we get to know him more. For now, I can confidently say he’s a huge lover, just with a lot of juice 😉

The level of anthropomorphism that exists and the level of projected emotional issues and anxiety projected on to dogs is unbelievable. It’s a genuine and legitimate issue we deal with daily.

Many of America’s 85 veterinary behaviorists are booked months in advance. Several whom Horowitch spoke with said that the number of people seeking pet mental-health care has exploded in the past few years. But there is no consensus as to why. One theory is that dogs today are more anxious. More Americans are choosing to adopt pets, which saves lives but can leave traumatized pets with inexperienced owners. We’ve also altered the way pets live in ways that may make them anxious or aggressive toward people and other dogs. But it could also be that anxious adults are projecting their own issues onto their furry companions. What people classify as a behavioral issue reflects human expectations as much as a dog’s nature, according to a bioethicist. ⁠

“So is the dog-anxiety crisis real, or is it a product of owners’ anxiety-riddled psyches? Dogs can’t tell us how they’re feeling, so we’ll probably never know,” Horowitch continues. “But both explanations are depressing. Either humans are stressing dogs out so much that they truly need prescription meds, or owners are putting their dogs on unnecessary psychoactive drugs to address annoying but normal dog habits. It might be time, in other words, to reevaluate the way we approach dog ownership. ⁠

“Many Americans don’t have the time, energy, or green space their pets need to thrive,” Horowitch continues. “If the choice is to medicate our dogs or to make them, and ourselves, miserable, pet ownership starts to seem ethically murky.”⁠

I am so behind but catching up! Been slacking in posts. Ganache was sold last month and training with us for some puppy foundations until mid-July! ⭐️

If you remember , who we sold a few years ago, and we recently posted about him earning his PSA 1 (first place and a million other recognitions)… Ganache is gonna be his little brother 🤍

Ganache is from ’s breeding of Benz vom Pawtuxunt Land IGP3 x Cannoli du Caruso BH, and you may also think he looks familiar because he is from the same litter as Jax (sold), Zora (sold), Gelato (available), .ryan (), Stevie (), Godiva (keeper) and the rest of the cool crüe that we’ve had on here (or you seen in person). A phenomenal litter!

Cheerio du Caruso PDC PSA1 🥇

I recently got photos of Cheerio’s PSA1 and couldn’t help but share on my page too, in addition to his human sharing.

We sold Cheerio in late 2022 and he has been thriving ever since. He obviously crushed his PDC, but then took it up and annihilated his PSA1. Cheerio is out of ’s C litter (2020) breeding of Hector vom Roten Sturm IGP3 x Whoopsie Ot Vitosha IGP3 FH1.

1st place Level 1 Saturday
1st place Level 1 Sunday

So proud of them. And the cherry on top? They’ll be showing at the PSA World Championship later this year. Stay tuned for those details.

And they’re off! 🚗 💨

Franz & Hanz recently found their people. Although they’re littermate brothers, they are going their separate ways. Hanz is here locally (Tampa) with a really sweet and lovely family about 20 minutes away from HQ. And then Franz will be with us a tiny bit longer before making his way to a veterinarian (and horse gal!) in beautiful KENTUCKY! We will be getting him neutered first, then sending him off with transport to meet his new mom in a few short days! 🤩

SOLD - little baby Ewok goes home today! G’ Zora du Caruso is one of a few pups we’ve sold recently and she has such a personality. She is out of Benz vom Pawtuxunt Land IGP3 x Cannoli du Caruso BH and littermates of some others you’ve seen on here we’ve recently sold (like Granite who is now named Jax, and Ganache who’s staying with us for some training until July). She will have quite the travels under her belt already with her owners coming from NYC to pick up and then staying in West Virginia for a few weeks before coming to us in FL for training! ☀️

The kindest duo became a trio yesterday. Little Granite (Benz vom Pawtuxunt Land IGP3 x Cannoli du Caruso BH) went to his humans yesterday. He did fantastic for his transport down to us from Connecticut, had a great week with us here at HQ, and his first night with his humans went fantastic. Granite is now named Jax is on the road to be a stellar little working dog, and will be staying local to us - yay!

Jax has two siblings at the and has a stellar pedigree. He is related to several of our personal dogs and really should grow in to a wonderful fella. Sky’s the limit, buddy! 🍾

Another one leaves the nest ✨

We had the sweetest family drive several hours to come meet Honcho (A Litter; Liška IGP3 x Yeti IGP1). Safe to say, not only did he win his new kids heart, but also the adults! He left HQ yesterday and I couldn’t be happier for him.
