THE RAPID RECALL WOOFSHOP
Two classes have been added - 6 spots are available for each option!
Our goal with this woofshop is to help you train your dog to have successful recall and have fun while doing it! Recall can be a life-saving skill, so we want to teach you the foundations (Orientation), show you all the steps for recall (Day 1), and solidify the skills learned in day 1 by introducing distractions (Day 2).

Teenage pup requirements:
• 6 - 12 months of age
• Received all puppy vaccines
• Dog and human friendly
In these classes, we will take our time to focus on advancing our obedience skills and continue with general confidence building as they navigate through their early teenage months!

Furriends Dog Walking is hiring a Professional Dog Walker! With walks located in inner city, this part-time independent contractor position is solely commission based to maximize your earnings. The ideal candidate must be willing to interact with pets in a force-free manner and have experience with leash reactivity. This position offers the flexibility to make your own schedule, choose your own clients, and work at your own comfort level!

Typical hours are from 9am - 3pm.

Willing to obtain/must have:

-A reliable vehicle for dog transport
-A passion for working with animals
-Knowledge of dog body language and handling leash reactivity
-Pet First Aid
-Pet Care Insurance
-Excellent customer service
-Physical ability to endure 4-5 hours of walking each day in various weather conditions

Duties:

-Attend meet and greets with new clients
-Entering multiple homes to pick up dogs
-Transporting dogs
-Completing group walks and private walks
-Writing daily walk reports
-Maintaining client confidentiality and respectfulness of their home

Our Story

Maisie started Furriends Dog Walking because working with animals has always been her passion. At a young age, she knew animals were meant to be in her life. She grew up in Calgary with her dog, Geo, by her side. With every move within and outside the city, Geo was there every step of the way.

In 2013, she graduated from University of Alberta with a BSc. in Animal Health and began working at a veterinary clinic back in Calgary. As with many new graduates, Maisie’s path to her career took many unprecedented turns and eventually led her away from her dreams of working with animals.

In August 2016, Geo passed away at the age of 14 due to heart complications and as many pet owners know, the lose of your first fur pal is not easy. Soon after, Maisie began dog walking and pet sitting to fill the void of losing her furriend, but then shortly realized that she loved doing it! Heading back into the veterinary industry, Maisie received a Dog Walking Certification and Pet First Aid Certification so that she can walk dog’s properly and safely.
