Grade 4 dental day
Did you know it’s February dental month here at River Road Animal Hospital?
This is what a day in grade 4 dental looks like with us!
Sometimes with dentals, extractions need to happen... and they provide so much pain relief!
A common question we receive is: can my dog eat kibble after extractions? While they are healing they will need a soft food diet. Most dogs and cats who get extractions after they heal can go back to eating kibble, but others will usually happy transition to a wet food diet!
We are having a dental promotion for the month of February! If you are interested feel free to reach out to us!
Sneak peak of Milo and Maddy during their scent training practice! As you can see, Milo is checking out some of the cups on the floor, of which only a few have the hidden scent he is looking for! He’s checking them all out and when he finds one, he looks to Maddy who gives him a tasty treat to reward him for his great work!
And please wish Milo a very happy 10th birthday today! The little man is celebrating a very special day today! 🎉🥳

Adorable Pebbles
We got to meet adorable Pebbles. She looks like she might have some Maine Coon in her background. They are an outgoing, almost dog like breed that originated in Maine. They can grow until 2 years old and have the record for longest domestic cat at 4 feet! Dr Kelly did an externship at a specialty cat practice in Maine and had the pleasure to meet lots of them!
Brothers from another mother reunited! Dot, the shepherd was born 1 day before Leif, the little Schipperke in the same home and were raised together. We adopted Leif at 8 weeks old and had the opportunity to adopt Dot last week. They are now 4 years old but certainly remember each other.
Tucker celebrated her 15th birthday yesterday and as you can see she is still feeling young at heart and loving life. Happy Birthday TuckerB💖
It's the fall tick bloom. We have three cases of tick removal today. Here is a fully engorged tick after removal - you can see the legs moving. Use tick prevention and consider Lyme vaccination for your dog
