River Road Animal Hospital is a veterinary clinic located in Wasaga Beach, Ontario. The clinic has been open since 1998 and is owned by Dr. Kelly Volmers. Dr. Volmers is a 1995 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Carly Telfer joined our team in March of 2014 and is also a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College. River Road Animal Hospital is a small animal hospital with surgery, digital radiography, ultra-sonic dentistry and a full in-house laboratory with laser analysis.

Did you know it’s February dental month here at River Road Animal Hospital? This is what a day in grade 4 dental looks like with us! Sometimes with dentals, extractions need to happen... and they provide so much pain relief! A common question we receive is: can my dog eat kibble after extractions? While they are healing they will need a soft food diet. Most dogs and cats who get extractions after they heal can go back to eating kibble, but others will usually happy transition to a wet food diet! We are having a dental promotion for the month of February! If you are interested feel free to reach out to us!

Our Story

River Road Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary clinic located in Wasaga Beach, Ontario. The clinic has been open since 1998 and is owned by Dr. Kelly Volmers. Dr. Volmers is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College with an interest in preventive medicine, dentistry, soft tissue surgery and infectious disease. Dr Volmers treats each pet as she would her own and will help clients through challenging times. Her goals is to provide a low stress and welcome experience for all pets and clients. Dr. Krista Gilpin joined our team in May of 2019 and is also a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College. Dr Gilpin has an interest in behaviour and training, new pet ownership and puppy and kitten medicine and education, exotic and pocket pet medicine and preventive medicine. River Road Animal Hospital is a small animal hospital with surgery, digital radiography, ultra-sonic dentistry, ultrasound and a full in-house laboratory with laser analysis. We welcome you to our veterinary hospital where your pet will be treated like family. River Road Animal Hospital is proud to be voted South Simcoe’s Best Veterinary Hospital.
