💪 MIDDAY MOTIVATION 💪
Most people don’t like change; it’s awkward, uncomfortable and daunting. But remember, without change, there is no innovation. Without innovation, there is no growth. So the next time you are faced to make changes, whether its intentional or not, remind yourself that this is your chance to create something better; to adapt, evolve, and grow.

❤ BREED OF THE WEEK ❤
🐾 Meet the Dachshund, whose roots can be traced back to Germany some 600 years ago. The breed was specifically developed to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals, using its long body and short legs to dig into dens and flush out prey. In the 19th century, they were imported to England and other parts of Europe, where they quickly became fashionable among the aristocracy. Queen Victoria of England was particularly fond of the breed, which played a significant role in boosting its popularity. During this time, Dachshunds were also introduced to the United States, where they were initially used for hunting small game. They were recognized as a breed by the American Kennel Club in 1885.
🐾 Dachshunds are renowned for their distinctive appearance; their elongated bodies and short legs and are affectionately referred to as "wiener dogs" or "sausage dogs." There are three main coat varieties within the breed: smooth, long-haired, and wire-haired. This breed is fiercely loyal to its family and can be quite protective. They are affectionate and enjoy spending time with their owners, often seeking out cuddles and attention.
🐾 Dachshunds are known for their sharp intelligence and inquisitive nature. However, their independent nature and stubbornness can present challenges. They can be headstrong, so patience is essential. Being on the sensitive side, positive reinforcement and reward-based training works best. Getting easily distracted, training sessions should be kept short and engaging. As a vocal breed, they may bark frequently, so training them to respond to commands like "quiet" or "enough” is important.
🐾 Despite their small size, these dogs need regular daily exercise to help build strong muscles to support and protect their back. Due to their predisposition to back issues, it’s important to avoid activities that put excessive strain on their spine. Low-impact exercises is highly recommended and it’s important to never allow them to jump from high places or furniture. With a love for play and adventure, Dachshunds are always up for a game or exploration, keeping their families entertained with their antics.

Dog Training Info
Sit Happens’ mission is to reduce the number of dogs re-homed or surrendered to rescue groups by providing affordable activities and education to dog owners. We accomplish this by taking the stress out of dog training by providing convenient and quality training that gets results quickly.
In-home training gets fast results!
By training in your home and neighborhood, we practice around in real life situations and distractions your dog encounters every day.
When training at a facility, dogs usually learn to listen in that environment only. Once you get home, the dog does not behave the same way as in class.
In a facility your trainer is not there in real life situations to help you troubleshoot and offer advice.
Training in your home let’s us work on behavioral training, such as over excitement, aggression or fearfulness, instead of just obedience training.
We do not rush training
Since each of our lessons builds on the last. Our flexible schedules allow 2-3 weeks between lessons, so you get enough practice in and are ready for the next lesson. Life gets busy and 1 week of practice is never enough for visible results.
This allows us to teach you more in 5 lessons than most other companies can in the various levels they offer.
One-on-One Training or Group Classes
Our one-on-one training style lets us customize your training program to suit your specific needs and accomplish the goals you aim for. Classes are structured and there are often not enough trainers or time to help you if you are having trouble with an exercise.
Our trainers work with you with a hands-on approach. We do not offer advice or give you a written training plan and expect you to know what to do. We create situations your dog misbehaves in and show you how to handle it.
Group classes are available in select cities and are a great option for clients looking for a more social training environment.
We are affordable
Group classes are available for clients on a budget or looking for a more social environment.
We offer competitive prices and affordable payment plans.
We improve the mental health of both you and your dog
By offering behavioral training we work on balancing your dogs unique needs and therefore improve their overall mental health.
We reduce stress in your life by creating a stronger and more respectful bond between you and your dog. No more embarrassing walks where your dog pulls, lunges or barks at your neighbors.
