I have just certified my 1,000th student!!!!

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every student I have had the pleasure of teaching over the last 12 years. You are the reason I do what I do and why I keep doing it. Your struggles, joy, fear and excitement keep me going. I have always said I learn as much from you as you do from me.

A big shout out to all the people I have learned from over my journey as well and the pros I work beside and at the dive sites. I love this community and am dedicated to making it the best in the world. Not many can say they do what they love but I can.

Today I watched a group of Divemaster's become PADI Open Water Scuba instructors. A couple of weeks of intense preparation paid dividends today. It was pleasure to be a small part of your journey. Congrats to you all and I can't wait yo work with you soon.

Finally the Apeks Thermiq Adv drysuit hit the Rowand's Reef shop. Our owner Cody is going to take it out for a dive to see it in all its Apeks glory. So excited to have this awesome dry suit here for all to enjoy.

Reinforced seams, Kevlar wear panels, plastic zipper,
Large 2 panel cargo pocket. This suit has it all.

This weekend I watched a young woman become a certified open water diver. Then I found out she paid for her course by hand making amazing nudibranch magnets. She gave me these three little magnets at the end of the course and then I learned the story of a young girl who wanted to become a scuba diver since she was very small.
Sometimes the student makes a huge impression on the teacher. I am beyond words how excited I am to be a small part of her bigger story.

I love teaching in the fall. The cooler weather, leaves falling from the trees and good viz in the ocean. Always gives me the feeling of renewal.

It was a weekend of happy divers and exhausted staff at the dive shop. My gratitude to the team at Rowand's Reef and our amazing clients for a great time. Every piece of rental gear was out in the ocean making memories.

I truly love what I do. Happiness is blowing bubbles and spending time in the ocean.
