I have just certified my 1,000th student!!!!

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every student I have had the pleasure of teaching over the last 12 years. You are the reason I do what I do and why I keep doing it. Your struggles, joy, fear and excitement keep me going. I have always said I learn as much from you as you do from me.

A big shout out to all the people I have learned from over my journey as well and the pros I work beside and at the dive sites. I love this community and am dedicated to making it the best in the world. Not many can say they do what they love but I can.

Today I watched a group of Divemaster's become PADI Open Water Scuba instructors. A couple of weeks of intense preparation paid dividends today. It was pleasure to be a small part of your journey. Congrats to you all and I can't wait yo work with you soon.

Finally the Apeks Thermiq Adv drysuit hit the Rowand's Reef shop. Our owner Cody is going to take it out for a dive to see it in all its Apeks glory. So excited to have this awesome dry suit here for all to enjoy.

From concept to inception, the silly shenanigans of the Rowand's Reef dive team continue. The Gummi goodness of Merbears we have shared at dive sites with clients find their way to be a permanent part of our lives forever. Thanks for the fabulous work.

This weekend I watched a young woman become a certified open water diver. Then I found out she paid for her course by hand making amazing nudibranch magnets. She gave me these three little magnets at the end of the course and then I learned the story of a young girl who wanted to become a scuba diver since she was very small.
Sometimes the student makes a huge impression on the teacher. I am beyond words how excited I am to be a small part of her bigger story.

I love teaching in the fall. The cooler weather, leaves falling from the trees and good viz in the ocean. Always gives me the feeling of renewal.

It was a weekend of happy divers and exhausted staff at the dive shop. My gratitude to the team at Rowand's Reef and our amazing clients for a great time. Every piece of rental gear was out in the ocean making memories.

I truly love what I do. Happiness is blowing bubbles and spending time in the ocean.

Here I go. I'm both excited and very nervous. I can't remember the last time I went away. Looking forward to a week of great viz, blue water and sharks. Bahamas here I come.

These little beauties just arrived at the dive shop. Not only do they come in multiple colors but the lens is replaceable. The lens is acrylic and sits in a plastic bungee mount that can be wrist or arm. Also great to mount on the lights of your camera set up so you can see what's behind you.

Here's the start to the next Rowand's Reef PADI Divemaster course. Group stretch to limber up for day one. A beautiful day at the beach and successful skill circuits. I'm excited to see this group of divers take the next step into a bigger adventure.

Another fantastic day in the water finishing up this awesome group of new Open Water divers. We had sunshine and clear waters and lots of sea life. Such a great course and I look forward to the adventures these divers will have in the future.
