TwelvePaws is a brand new Canadian shop that opened September 2016. I know better than most that every dog has an extremely unique personality.Working with dogs for many years I came to learn very quickly that every dog is different and they can all teach us something. As the owner of three beautiful female dogs with each their own very distinct personality, I wanted to create accessory products t

hat suited them. My products are created one hundred percent by me. Every fabric is hand picked by yours truly and I cut, sew, iron, stitch and package all my products in my home surrounded by my three adorable fluff butts (who model for me whenever I ask). Because I started out this business with the simple desire to make my own dogs some fashionable neckwear, I decided right from the start to donate 1$ from every item purchased to a local animal shelter. I truly believe that animals are the essence of my happiness and every little bit helps when finding these beautiful creatures homes. So, if you love exploring, are a little wanderlust, and can't live without the natural beauty of our wild world I think you might like some of our merchandise. Thanks to everyone who supported TwelvePaws this holiday season! This is a beautiful photo by ❤️💚

I just wanted to provide a little life update: ⬇️
This was my first time not doing holiday markets since I started TwelvePaws in 2016, and it felt WEIRD! I purposely made this decision with my ongoing intention of trying to find ways to make my life more intentional and purposeful for ME and for the past several years my heart was not entirely there during markets. I’ve been wanting to spend more time with family and soaking in the season, and I feel I got the chance to do that this year. ♥️🥹

However, I did not anticipate the postal strike, which essentially was a harsh blow for a small business who has the “blessing” of shipping letter mail. I just had to basically throw my hands in the air and say, okay well whatever happens, happens this holiday season! So, thank you to everyone who made an order and to those who chose local pickup this season. I know not all of my customers could, but there was definitely an increase in local pickup and that was incredibly helpful. 🫶

Despite having no markets and the postal situation, I was still so busy with life, work, and orders over the past two month that I almost felt like - how the heck did I also do back to back markets this time of year? I feel sometimes when you’ve been doing things one way for so long, you don’t even realize the impact it’s having (good or bad). For anyone who’s followed me from the beginning, you’ve seen this business through many phases and highs and lows. Despite everything, it is still so gratifying to be able to continue to hand-make products that people know and love and I’m focusing on balancing that with, well, my life. So, for 2025 and beyond I’m continuing to focus on developing and nurturing a life that is fulfilling for me, and creating boundaries that will help me to be successful in fostering that. I’m beyond grateful for those who have stuck around through all the chapters and who always rave about TwelvePaws. I wouldn’t (and couldn’t) continue to be here without you! And I so so appreciate you.

Well, the snow is here. No complaints though, fall gave us a good run this year (for Albertans)! Now, it’s time for the holidays! Our leather tags are great stocking stuffers for that animal lover in your life (or even your dog’s stocking because I know a lot of us have those!).

In all seriousness, I wanted to come on social media today and just express my deepest condolences to all Jasper folk. Anyone who knows those who live in Jasper, know how much these humans love their town (and it’s obvious why). I can’t imagine how difficult this is and know the impact of this tragedy is felt across the world (not an exaggeration with the amount of tourism Jasper inspires). Thinking of you today. And thinking of our wildlife, our mountains, and our firefighting teams. Stay safe out there people.

Hi, hello, good morning! Happy new year! 🥳

I’m still around, I’m just feeling like Instagram is a happiness-sucking force in my life right now and am trying to avoid it 😂 but, life is good. I enjoyed the holiday season with my partner and our families. Both my girls are in double digits now so we are enjoying our routines, while all feeling a little more stiff these days 😜 I became an auntie to my second niece on Christmas Eve and look forward to meeting her later this month. I am really looking forward to continuing to explore my creativity this year and spending quality time with my loved ones. I have several trips planned already and am looking forward to what this year has to offer. And, oh, I guess I should mention TwelvePaws 😂 I’ve taken my foot off the gas, but I’m still here sewing away and I’m still so grateful for everyone who supported me this holiday season whether that be online or at markets. YOU are what keeps me around! This is a tough time for small businesses - I can literally feel it when I’m talking to my fellow makers, and it feels heavy. I want nothing more than success for the people I see doing the things they love and it is hard to see the market ebb sometimes. So, if you supported local this holiday season, thank you! Thanks for sticking around in this crazy digital world, and thank you for loving and supporting my business. It truly makes my day when somebody mentions they have a bandana from me and it’s the best quality bandana they have ever owned! Or when someone comes to my booth and says they came to the market just to see me. Or, when somebody meets me at a market and purchases something and then reaches out later to get more because they loved it so much. These moments are everything for me as a small business owner and I want you to know that! So, all this to say, I may not be as consistent this year with my online presence, but I’m still here doing the damn thing 😂 I’m just trying to stay true to what makes me happy and the best version of myself and I hope that for all of you too! Here’s to 2024! 🥂
