Winter and Frankie are so thankful to have a safe space at the shelter while they wait for their forever homes. 🐾

Do your animals have a safe space inside during the festivities? We often see an influx of lost dogs turn up at the shelter during times like these as the loud, unusual noises can be so frightening for some dogs. We ask that you please double check your yards for escape routes, keep an eye on those furry friends while they're in the yard in case something spooks them, and allow them to have a safe space to go, especially for the firework show this evening.

🐾 Coco (formerly Dixie) met her new family at the TLPS booth at Rescue Fest in Lethbridge this past July and it was love at first sight! Coco loves her new life with mom, dad and brother Connor. She enjoys running and exploring on the acreage and going to the mountains too to play with her new people and dog friends. Connor says she sure has the happy zoomies! So happy for you Coco! 🥹

Shadow is still desperately searching for a home!! He goes to his training program on September 1st and absolutely cannot come back to the shelter as we fear it will hinder all the tremendous progress he's made with his overall well-being. 🥹

PLEASE share this so it reaches the right audience. Shadow is capable of being with the right dog, but he does need a quieter home, so children would not be a good fit for him. He's a great mix of playful, affectionate, and super laid back! And he will be professionally trained!! 😯🤩 This boy is so special and he's bound to make someone's life so much more exciting.

Indie is a 1-2 year old, Male, St. Benard Mix. He is shy but incredibly affectionate. He has such a gentle and quiet nature. Even his playfulness is so gentle. He is an old soul full of love. Indie is a big fan of relaxing but enjoys adventuring and is a feather on the leash.

Hi Everyone 👋 Please take the time to read - for Shadow 🙏

For those of you who don't know, this is Shadow. Shadows had a pretty rough go since coming to us last year. He came to us very fearful, knowing very little about the real world. He was fostered, which did not work out and is where we learned we needed to devote training into this boy to see him succeed. He was scheduled for his professional training program on August 1st but one week before, on the first night of Cornstock (which we think could have triggered his anxiety), he ingested ALOT of rocks. He was rushed to Calgary where he received emergency care to have all the rocks removed.

Since then, Shadow has been THRIVING in his recovery home. He's made friends with his foster brother Bow, and has no issues with the house cat. He has recovered from his surgery and will be able to attend his program on September 1st. Once he has completed the program, we cannot fathom the thought of him coming back to the shelter. I mean, could you? He's been through so much.

Shadow is neutral with cats, fits with some dogs, and will be professionally trained. 😲
He is not a fit for young children and would do best in a quieter household.

Frankie, our happy-go-lucky boy is still searching for his forever home. 🏡

Frankie is most likely between 3-5 years, male, fixed & vaccinated, house/potty trained, and such a well rounded boy. He loves walks, is crazy for playing fetch, and enjoys snuggles and naps. He's neutral around most dogs, and has not been tested around cats. Frankie is a "I'll go wherever you go, whether that's for a hike or for a 3 hour nap" type of boy, and we know whoever chooses him will be so lucky! 🤩

On August 12, 2024, at 9:00 am, this approximately 2-month-old female lab puppy was found wandering around the Provincial building located at 49 Avenue and 50 Street.

The puppy appears to be well fed and in good condition.
