We took a break from the heat last week, but all the dogs knew their job.
Here's Gretchen showing us you can jump as high as you want over the little jumps.
We introduced all the dogs to the tunnel, and even Pippin, our large Borzoi made it all the way through.
Tucker may be one of our slower moving dogs, but he sure knows what he is doing.
Sweet Libby learning her recall. Awesome adventures await!
First we played the name game, and I allowed her to explore the area freely, rewarding any time she naturally checked in with me. We started somewhere with no distractions and used a long line both for safety and to prevent rehearsing undesired behaviour (ie running away).
Puppies first meal - soft canned puppy food mixed with warm water and milk replacer - yum!
The puppy mobile is a big hit!
Made of random objects that make weird noises like crunchy bottles, clunking wood, clanking metal, and toys - this helps desensitize puppies to weird noises and build confidence exploring novel items. The attachments will be changed out every few days to keep it interesting!
A very focused drool monster 👹 in the middle of a busy dog park using no food rewards, only praise and “go play”.
Premack principle is essentially rewarding your desired behaviour with their desired behaviour, i.e heel and you can go play, wait and you can go outside, etc.
When you start teaching a heel or leash skills, make sure you start really easy with no distractions. Don’t expect your pup to stay beside you immediately in a highly stimulating environment.

Is this healthy play? Why or why not?
