🌼 On September 30th, we recognize Truth and Reconciliation Day in Canada. This important day invites us to reflect on the lasting impacts of residential schools, persisting systemic racism and in turn, honour the resilience of Indigenous communities.
Let’s take this opportunity to listen, learn, and commit to meaningful action towards healing and understanding.

By listening to Indigenous voices we can commit to meaningful action toward reconciliation and help build a brighter future for all. 🕊️

What allies can do to help:

1. Historical Education: Recognize the importance of educating ourselves and others about the history of residential schools, (multitude of other trespasses) and the chronic systemic racism that still affects marginalized people every day (even every second).

2. Community Involvement: Encourage participation in local events or activities that promote reconciliation.

3. Indigenous Voices: Highlight the significance of listening to and amplifying Indigenous perspectives and stories.

4. Commitment to Action: Call for ongoing efforts toward reconciliation, not just on this day but year-round.

5. Healing and Support: Focus on the healing process for Indigenous communities and the support needed from non-Indigenous people.
