PLEASE SHARE. Three years ago my life fell apart when my baby girl went missing and it hasn't been the same since. A few months before that I had lost my home in a separation. That was nothing compared to this loss. It was like losing a child and your support system at once. vanished on June 23rd, 2019 in the area of the Market in around 10 pm 😥.
We believe she was abducted and whoever found her made no attempts to find us even though she was wearing a collar and tags that would have made it easy.

The hardest part by far is not having any closure. She may have been killed or she may be living with a new family that treats her well. Someone knows exactly what happened to her. Others may know her and not realize she was taken. If you think you've seen her, please contact us.

She would be 7.5 years old now and probably have more grey around her mouth and face.🥺

It is certain someone saw her that night and very likely she is with someone now. The person who has her now may not know she went missing and has a family desperate to be back with her.
They are not in trouble. In fact, they would be rewarded greatly. ❤️

Whoever can get this dog back to us, regardless of their involvement, would be HEROES and greatly rewarded. ❤️🙏

It's hard to believe it's been two years since went missing. vanished on June 23rd, 2019 in the area of the Market in around 10 pm 😥.
We believe she was abducted and whoever found her made no attempts to find us even though she was wearing a collar and tags that would have made it easy.

I know I have done everything in my power to find her, including everything that has ever been suggested by anyone. Thousands of posters were put up in and around Ottawa. The by-law and roads depts were contacted countless times in case they found any animal meeting her description. I made no less than 3 trips to the freezers kept by the city roads dept. to ID different dogs that were not Taiga.
Many Ads were bought and run on Facebook, and other media. Posts were made, shared, and seen over 100K times on every lost animal page I could find. Every vet, groomer, and shelter in Ottawa and far beyond was contacted to keep a lookout for her. So many people helped out by sharing posts on here and calling me if they ever thought they saw her.

What did not help:
The police. It took nearly 2 months (!) to get a call back from the detective who had my case. However, there were a few police officers that were very sympathetic and messaged me privately. But it was made abundantly clear that the police could only treat this like stolen property and basically do nothing. Laws need to change.

Media: Many people made the suggestion to contact the media. I contacted every local media (CBC, CTV, Global, Citizen, etc) I thought could help and was either ignored or told it was not worth it to them to help me.

*The one thing I wish I had been told or thought of right away that also still haunts me is to check all neighbours and businesses for video recordings around the time she might have passed by on any potential path she may have taken. By the time somebody mentioned it, it was too late and the videos were gone. I message anyone going thru something similar and tell them to do this right away. So many more people have cameras now, this should become a common tip.

Please help find my dog! Last seen in the Byward Market in Ottawa around 10 pm, June 23rd. If you see her please contact 519-817-3687 immediately. Please stay with her or take a picture if you can. We miss her so much and want her home to the only home she has known since she was a baby. We are thankful if she has been well taken care of but it is time for her to come home.
