The 60's litter weren't big on having their photos taken today, but I will try again tomorrow!

Pictured is Hendrix. He was very excited about the camera, which doesn't make for great photos as he wouldn't stop wiggling!

They are all doing well, eating lots, and taking lots of naps!

We have seen the vet. We have good news, and not so great news.

The good news is they are negative for Parvo!

The bad news is it isn't mange. They have Scabies. We have been sent home with treatment, and will be going back in a month or so when the treatment is done.

That being said, effective immediately we are under quarantine unless you are willing to wear PPE while in the house. Scabies is highly contagious, and we don't want anyone to catch it.

I will continue to update on them as they heal and rehabilitate. They have a lot of weight to gain, are expelling worms as I type this, and will take some time to recover enough to even receive vaccinations.

We have safely picked up the pups, and are on our way to the vet. Just taking a quick stop to give the pups a break from the car ride, and charge my phone a little bit.

They have all been named after singers from the 60s! We have Tina Turner, who is the girl and is quite nervous. Jimi Hendrix, who is the tan boy, and Elvis Presley who is the gray/black boy. The boys are very people oriented (and food oriented!)

I will update once we have been seen by the vet.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day! We are meeting the lovely person who caught those 3 puppies we posted about, and then I will be heading straight to our vet with them.

Only 2 are pictured here, but rest assured the 3rd one was caught thanks to the determination and patience of J, who is transporting them to meet us in Langham.

Upon further inspection of the photos we were sent, here is what we will be addressing with the vet:

- Parvo snap test to start. While we don't think they have Parvo, we want to be 100% sure before bringing them into the house.
- Skin scrape and treatment for Demodex mange.
- Likely antibiotics for the mange as the tan pup seems to have a nasty case of it.
- Wellness checks to make sure there isn't anything else going on.

Then it will be off to their temporary home (aka my home!) to be dewormed, and let them rest, recuperate, and recover.

Some of you may remember my post about this sweet girl who was running loose in Quinton!

Today she went to her new home. :) We never properly advertised her as she had a home lined up with a community member as soon as we picked her up.

Good morning everyone,

We are breaking our intake freeze to help these 3 babies. We were contacted this morning about them, and are picking them up Wednesday.

They will need extensive veterinary care. They look to be wormy, are clearly underweight, and it looks like there is some demodex mange going on.

Thank you to the wonderful lady who contacted us, and is transporting them to Saskatoon where we will meet her.

I will keep everyone updated.

EMERGENCY:
There is a woman on Day Star who is DESPERATELY needing a ride to a Vet in Regina. Her puppy has a suspected broken leg. We can arrange for gas to be taken care of.

I have some great news!

The van went into the mechanic shop today for a diagnosis, and the price to fix it is much less than I was expecting.

The brakes pad and rotor on the front passenger side are completely worn down. We haven't heard any grinding or squealing so I'm a little bit shocked!

That being said, the caliper also snapped off, which is why we don't have brakes. It caused a leak in the brake fluid.

It's only going to set us back $360, which is a lot better than the scary numbers that were running through my head.

Parts are being ordered today, and it should be back up and running in a few days. :)

I have some unfortunate news.

The vans brakes have quit on us. At least, I assume thats whats going on.

This means that, while we save up to pay for the brakes to be fixed, transporting dogs is going ti be very difficult. We do have a sedan type car, and will use it to get to vet appts and such, but past that we are unable to pick up dogs, buy dog food in bulk, or buy the other supplies we typically buy in bulk.

I will be calling around on Monday to get quotes on fixing the van, however it may need to be put on the backburner for a while. We already have so many projects on the go, including a possibly pregnant dog that we picked up last night... Spending the money on fixing the brakes isn't as much of a priority right now. :(

🚨 Exciting Updates from LSCR! 🚨

Yesterday, we sent 12 adorable puppies off to Victoria! This included the entire Princess & The Frog litter, Jack (who finished his stray hold), and two sweet pups we rescued after they were abandoned. 🐾❤️

Important Notice: We are on an intake freeze until our new kennels are built. As much as we want to save every dog, it's just my partner and me here, and for our sanity, we need secure kennels before we can take in more dogs.

We’re planning to build 8 sturdy brick kennels. Brick is not only more affordable but also helps reduce stress by preventing dogs from seeing their neighbors. 🧱🐶

Donations towards this are greatly appreciated, and will allow us to speed up the process so we can start helping the dogs again.

Here’s what we need:
- Bricks or paver stones (any color, as they will be painted and sealed)
- Concrete
- 2x4's for door frames

Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated. We’ll build one kennel at a time as supplies are obtained.

While it's tough to be on an intake freeze, we’re excited to improve our facilities for the dogs and for our sanity. Thank you so much for your continued support! 🌟

Little Eudora isn't losing sight of what's important... She has her mind set on finding her family!

Eudora is a beautiful black/silver tricolor. She is expected to be around medium-large in size, but we cannot make guarantees due to not knowing her breed makeup.

She is a cuddly little lovebug, who wants nothing more than to snuggle with her people after a good play in the yard.

This young lad needs a foster or a furever home
He is good with small dogs and has been around cats but sometimes chases them. He is very fearful of big dogs. He needs a high fenced yard and he's house trained.

Hello everyone!

Some of you might have seen our "Found" post for this handsome boy already.

Unfortunately, his stray hold is over, and no one has come forward to claim him. :(

That means we’re now accepting applications for him. He'll be getting a vet appointment in the next week or two, so he’ll be ready to go home after that!

Meet Jack!
Jack is an adorable 4-month-old, likely a Labrador Retriever x Husky mix. This charming, social boy has been fantastic with our cats and gets along great with other dogs.

We expect Jack to grow into a medium-large size, so we’re looking for an active family to give him a loving home.

Due to a major influx in the amount of calls we are getting:

Adoption fees on ALL dogs/puppies are $200. You must still fill out an application, go through the approval process, and sign a contract.

Puppies come with age appropriate vaccinations and microchips.

The Princess & The Frog litter will be available in approximately 2 weeks.

We have some more puppies that are a bit younger that will also be coming available soon.

These puppies shouldn't have to suffer due to irresponsible humans.

Well... Mustang is getting a name change.

Why? Because we were called out for the rest of her litter.

We couldn't catch mom, although she looks like a medium sized terrier mix. Wire coated. We will be continuing to try and catch her so we can spay her.

In the meantime, introducing the Princess & The Frog litter.

Blue names are boys, pink or purple names are girls.

Meet Mustang! We received a message about Mustang last night after she had been dumped in someone's yard.

She is approximately 7 or 8 weeks old, and what we lovingly call a "bitsa", aka a bitsa this and a bitsa that. In all honesty, this is our name we use for mixed breeds when we don't know what they are!

She is likely going to be a medium-large breed dog.

She will be available for adoption in a few weeks, after her quarantine period is done, and she has received vaccinations.

Putting an urgent plea out to other rescues!

There is a frontliner who is overwhelmed with over 20 puppies from her work site. Some of which are still on formula and needing around the clock care.

We are driving up to Saskatoon later today to pick up a few bottle babies, and we are able to transport between Saskatoon and Touchwood Hills area if any rescues are able to take on some puppies.

Alternatively, if anyone is interested in fostering through us, we can arrange that as well.

Good morning everyone,

This is a desperate plea to our followers.

We receive messages daily asking us to take in dogs in dire need. While we would love to, there is one problem...

We are in desperate need of new kennels. We have reached out to numerous charitable organizations in an attempt to secure funds, with no luck so far.

We also have a vet bill of over $1000 owing that we need to get paid off.

We are a registered non-profit, and cannot help the animals without support from our followers.

Did you know that we don't make any money off adoption fees? Between microchips, shots, food, medical procedures, etc...

The reward is these dogs getting a second chance at life. That's what it's always been about.

But we cannot do that without support.

URGENT: NEEDS PLACEMENT

We have been asked to assist in finding placement for this pup.

She is 7 months, and approximately 30lbs. Spayed, and up to date on shots.

She is good with kids, tries to play (bark/chase) with cats so would likely do better in a home with no cats, has lived with other dogs.

Her owner is struggling with health issue and hospitalizations, and has asked to surrender her. Unfortunately we don't have room as we are in the middle of a new kennel build.

She either needs placement in a rescue or a home immediately. Alternatively, if someone is able to commit to fostering her, we could take her on that way.

It has been a whirlwind of a week, but some congratulations are in order!

I don't have photos of everyone with their new people, but I will post the photos I do have.

Congratulations to the dog's that were adopted this week!

Bixbite went home to his new family with 2 other dogs.

Garnet went home to live on acreage with her new mom and her new doggy siblings!

Minnie's Foster-to-Adopt is officially an adoption! She loves her human and dog siblings, and is so happy on their farm.

Newton went home with his new truck driving dad! He's going to explore the continent and be with his dad 24/7.

Precious went home to be the center of attention in her new home! Her people fell in love with her before meeting her, and upon meeting it was clear it was meant to be.

So happy for all these dogs and their new families 🧡
