I find it so encouraging when new growth shows up before spring is officially here. Plants that have been around for years send out new sprouts knowing the chance of a freeze is high, but are still willing to try, then try again if necessary. A reminder that I too can try new things.

My husband knows how much I love shadows. So, when he called me in to see the cool shadow on the wall, I dropped what I was doing and went. Neither of us could figure out what was causing the vertical striped pattern on the wall, but we both thought it was lovely, especially with the more defined shadow from the vase of dried flowers on the side table. Within a few minutes, the angle of the sun changed, and it was gone. But the glow within remained, both from the beauty and that we shared it together.
