On April 8, 2024 parts of Ontario will experience temporary darkness due to a Solar Eclipse. The eclipse is to start around 2:00 p.m. with a full eclipse approximately 3:20 p.m. and move eastward. The specific time and duration of the eclipse will depend on your location. Areas outside the path of totality will observe a partial solar eclipse.

Looking directly at the uncovered Sun without protection can cause retinal burns, blurred vison, or loss of eyesight. Glasses with specialized filters adhering to the ISO 12312-2 international standard can be warn to prevent eye damage.

🌻🌼As spring approaches, it's important to consider if your dog is protected against Leptospirosis🦠, a disease caused by a bacterial infection. The clinical signs of Leptospirosis can vary, but often include symptoms such as fever, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, weakness, depression, and stiffness or muscle pain. This disease is commonly spread by wild animals like rats, mice, squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, foxes, and deer. Leptospirosis is also a zoonotic disease, which means it can be transmitted between animals and humans. 💉Fortunately, modern vaccines are highly effective and safe in preventing Leptospirosis. To ensure protection, dogs typically require an initial vaccine followed by a booster a month later, and then annual boosters thereafter.🐾🦠
