Our Dogsitting Facility is an alternative to the traditional kennel. Located on 21 acres of peaceful countryside near Cayuga, ON. Dogs are screened prior to booking to be sure that we are a good fit for your pup. We strive to provide a low stress, quiet homelike environment where dogs can relax and have fun! It’s time to make plans for your dog’s visits this spring and summer before our schedule fills up! 📆 The months of July and August are especially busy, so let us know if you have some travel plans and we’ll get you booked in.

Our family is actually working on our own vacation plans right now! 😊 We’ll be closed while we’re away - likely mid July - but we’ll plan around our Dogsitting visitors as best we can. We’re excited to take a few days at a cottage to relax and hang out with our own dogs, Zoinks and Retro! 🐾🐾

Our little flock of organically fed, supervised free-ranging, and much loved Runner Ducks are laying beautiful, nutritious and delicious eggs! Lovely for baking, and they make rich scrambled eggs or quiche! And they are perfect for adding to your raw fed dog's meal!

We have a change to our Dogsitting appointment hours: from Sept 14th onwards, we’ll be closed on WEDNESDAYS to Dogsitting appointments! The visiting dogs will still be here and will be cared for as usual, but we’re taking back one day a week as a break from appointments and schedules.
Appointments currently booked on a Wednesday are fine! 😉
Thanks for your understanding! After 20 years of being available/open every day of the year for appointments except on Christmas Day, 😳 it’s time to make a few changes!! 🥰

After a fun-filled family vacation to California, I’m back at it this morning! I’m happy to see all of the dogs that are arriving this morning starting at 6am… ok, 9am here but my tired body and fuzzy brain think it’s still 6am!! 😳
We were closed while we were away, but I tried to keep an eye on inquiries and messages while we were gone. I didn’t want to make a general announcement that we were away so thanks for your patience! If you’ve been in touch over the past few weeks and are waiting on replies to emails, messages or calls, please bear with me as I get caught up! Between a packed vacation schedule and spotty internet access, I tried my best to keep on top of things and I definitely have some catching up to do!

One week ago our sweet Switch left us. 💔
And today marks what would have been her 17th Birthday.
I still think of having had her for 17 years even though she was one week short of that milestone. I was there 17 years ago when she was created, I was there when I first felt her and her littermates squirming about in Flash's belly as she lay across my chest, and I was there for the long wait until the puppies appeared, and then every day since.
Switch was the final puppy born. And now, she is the last of her litter to cross the Bridge. She was born a few hours after the rest of the pups, and after my parents and Simon left for the evening, so it was just Flash & I who welcomed her into the world. She was the pup that most closely resembled Flash and I think she pulled at my heartstrings from the very beginning (though it took a while to admit it!). She was definitely the right choice for us.🐾
This past week has been difficult for our family, and I knew today would stir up many feelings. Today is a day for grief and tears, but also a day for reflection, and for gratitude of a life well-lived.
I wanted to find a way to honour Switch's 17th Birthday now that she isn't here to celebrate with us. And I've decided to ask my friends and followers to consider making a donation to BCROntario (Border Collie Rescue Ontario) in her name. We first connected with Cindy & BCRO around 2000 as a foster home, as well as providing assistance with adoptions, assessments, or transport, and I know how much work goes into the care and placement of these dogs. Any amount would be lovely to help my friend Cindy Boht and the Border Collies in her care, but I was thinking $17 would be a nice amount to suggest. You can e-transfer Cindy at [email protected] and use "Happy Birthday Switch" as the message. A PayPal link is also available if you prefer that method. The dogs thank you, and I know Switch would have passed along a snuggle to you and your dogs.
Hug your pups, cherish them, and treat each day with them as a gift. I'm off to squeeze my pups Retro & Zoinks - they've endured a lot of extra snuggles this week but I doubt they mind. 💕
And we’re back! 🖥 Our NEW website is online!! 🥰 After months of it being “dark” I’ve finally been able to finish it. I’ll blame the concussion 😵💫 I managed to give myself before Christmas for the delay… I’m finally able to sit in front of the computer for more than 20 minutes without feeling yucky. Phew!! We’re so thankful to still have her with for this big milestone - especially as she has struggled over the last month. We’re taking it day by day and giving her as much love as possible in the time that we have left together. My heart breaks to know that our time is growing short, but am so very grateful for each day.
