Our mission is to prevent animal cruelty by supporting spay/neuter initiatives and to rescue and re-home as many dogs as we can in this lifetime.

We had some extra good news for Miguelito during his vet visit, his infection has cleared, his tests came back all good and he received his first vaccination today, as well as his first name tag.
Well done Miguelito.

It's been 10 days since little Miguelito was rescued and here he is today at our vet, you can see just how small he is.
He's doing well, he's still on medication for a urinary infection but that should clear up soon abd he'll continue to gain health.
Another fun little dog so happy to be safe.

Its flight day for me to spend a week with the dogs in Puerto Vallarta and fly a few home with me next week to find their forever families.
This is a difficult trip to take as for the first time, Noel will not be waiting for me when I arrive home but he is with me, I am bringing a bit of him with me to help get through this trip.
See you soon Puerto Vallarta

I'm sharing this rescue and birth now although it happened earlier in April.
Mom is tiny although its not easy to comprehend in photos, she had 6 puppies but only 3 survived and that's the sad reality of so many of the very pregnant moms who are rescued.
This was the moment she gave birth and we still have 3 tiny tiny pups who i will share updated pics of.
Despite rescue you lose so many and it never gets easier but if you don't accept it you couldn't continue helping animals in need of help, but they all deserve our help.

Here's our little escapee Chispa who found a whole in the fence big enough for her and went out to explore the neighborhood.
It took a while to find her but she was very happy to be in the car for the ride home and very tired after her adventure.
All good, she's never done that before and very happy to be home with Meche.
One last adventure on her own before we bring her to Vancouver to find her forever family.

Here's little Mixi and we've decided today to fly her on a later date than May 1st but she will still be coming to Vancouver to find her forever family.
We've been doing some extra testing on the legs of the little dogs and Mixi has knee displaysia, and although she hasn't shown any pain or symptoms the xray showed in her case it may in the future.
A lot of little dogs have it and live pain free we had to make a decision today and to be on the safe side in her case we will get her surgery in Puerto Vallarta.
Although still expensive its a lot less than in Vancouver and she can get it done right away.
Its just a delay for her and we still have plans for 3 dogs to fly on May 1st including her brother Pinky.

it's Benji (formerly Chuby) and this is a day at work for him, his job is easy for him but its an important job, he just has to relax and put a smile on his moms face while she works.
Benji also came 2nd in our 2026 calendar contest so in not too long of time he's gone from living in the streets to having his own family and now a model for our calendar.
Life has certainly changed for this awesome little guy.

Here's Takeshi and he just returned from vacation with Mari's family and when the family goes away that includes all the dogs.
Takeshi may be one of the dogs coming to Vancouver on May 1st, he's a tiny 1.5 year old boy who Mari's youngest daughter rescued, she may be young but she's rescued a lot of animals.
We will be finalizing who flys on May 1st shortly and then we also have a flight on may 17th so some amazing dogs will be available for adoption very soon in Vancouver.

Chill Saturdays with Don Pedro
He's such a sweet gentleman and seeing him enjoy life now after 6 years of neglect is an amazing thing to watch, just seeing him relax after a walk and a meal is rewarding.

Here's Jaisy (now Roo) meeting a new friend on her first trip to a farm with her mom.
Oct 3 2023 was the day her life changed, that was her rescue day and then came her adoption day and since then, she's been living her best life.

About A Dog Rescue Society
Our rescue, based in Vancouver BC was started in October 2018. Our team has worked together previously to rescue and re-home dogs and we decided to take our passion and create a group of our own.
Our dogs come from various backgrounds, some as simple as owner surrenders, and others coming from situations of neglect and abandonment. We currently work with an amazing rescue group in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and hope to further expand our rescue efforts worldwide. Our rescue knows no boundaries.
We are a registered non-profit and rely solely on donations. Every penny raised goes straight to the dogs or towards spay/neuter clinics and initiatives.
We do not have a shelter so we rely on a small group of wonderful volunteers and foster families to care for our dogs, conduct home visits, spread the word, and help us organize events.
We are a ethical, honest and transparent rescue, we would be happy to answer any and all of your questions about our dogs or how donations are spent.
