Its time for the rain in Puerto Vallarta, often at this time of the late afternoon the heavy rain comes, often it doesn't last long and sometimes you get some longer, thunder and lightning storms.
This is our dog house and you can see the yard turns to mud but we keep working on strong structures that will cover the yard, some work is in progress and we keep planning work as we can afford it.
The dogs are under cover, if I was there I'd be standing in the rain cooling off from the days humidity.
It's a long term project which we knew from the start but its been a great one as it gives many dogs a chance to have a yard to play in and a house for shelter.

We had another 1 year adoption anniversary and this one is for Capybara (now Oliver) and his family said he's the apple of their eyes and they adore him.
Capy was rescued along with Chuby (now Benji) and pic 4 was the day they traveled together to Vancouver, pic 5 was rescue day and pic 6 was before adoption with Noel and Liam, both Capy and Chuby stayed with me and all 4 dogs had a great time together, such nice memories.
Once just living on the streets with his friend Chuby, trying to survive and now celebrating his first anniversary with his family, living the amazing life he deserves.

Today was to be Pinkys flight day but at the airport, after a bit of a debate by the airline l, they decided his legs were a bit to long for the travel bag, he's a small dog but has longer legs.
These things can happen and unfortunately, Pinky didn't get to fly today.
He did have an full day though, he loved the car rides, he went to a restaurant for lunch, then went to Costco and after that was ready for the ride home.
It was good to see just how well behaved he was at all these places and we will get Pinky to Vancouver as soon as possible.

Angelita on her morning walk and the confidence keeps growing, her first trip to the park started with excitement but then was overwhelmed but a few days later and a few more walks she's just able to enjoy it.
She has the perfect walking crew with Don Pedro and Pecky. Pecky is calm and no dog is as cool, relaxed and chill as Don Pedro.
Soon she'll be running around the park but its only been just over a week since she was on her own and suffering, covered in ticks, malnourished, no shelter from the heat or the heavy rain storms.
Its been an incredible week for her, showing everyone what's possible if you just stop and help them.

Look who will be flying to Vancouver on Monday, its Pinky and he was surprised today with the news that we have flight for him.
He will be staying with me while we find his family so you'll see lots and lots of updates on him.
He's just a little guy, about 2.5 years old, affectionate and social and ready to find his forever family in Vancouver.

Our little guy is doing great, being a happy puppy and as today is the first day of summer, he has just 1 more season to wait until he's old enough to fly to Vancouver this fall.

Day 6 for Angelita adjusting to rescue life and this morning she chose to go on her first morning walk and this is her leaving Josefina's home.
She was very excited at first walking to the park with some of the others but then became a bit overwhelmed at the park with everything that's going on.
There can be lots of dogs, people walking, exercising and just a lot going on so for Angelita who just a week ago was suffering and trying to survive on her own, she's overcome an awful lot in these 6 days.
She's a sweet dog, very affectionate and happy and will continue to gain confidence daily, it's nice to watch her having the chance to just be herself and happy.

Look at these wagging tails, especially Angelita, what a difference a week can make in a life.
She hasn't started the morning walks yet as she's still shy, although today she went to the front gate but then decided not to go, but its actually been less than a week since rescue day and she's overcome so much so quickly.
It's just so nice to see her starting to understand that she will never be on her own again and will have nothing but love in her life from now on.

Here's Lolo, Stuart and friends with Gina, and you are never short of good company in one of the homes where our dogs stay.
Gina has just had Lolo and Stuart a week but said they are so sweet that she feels like they've been there since they were born.
Happy, playful dogs, full of affection.

As its Fathers day, we want to celebrate Neo, who is father to Canela, Cocoa, Tyson, Greta, Oreo and Daysi.
Sophie and Neo are still together, never separated as they are so bonded and was such a doting partner to Sophie when she was pregnant and has been there to see his pups get adopted and still has Oreo with him.

Here's Angelita cuddled up with Josefina right now and Capitan has taken to comforting Angelita as well.
She's stronger today but still has a ways to go together healthy but just a few days ago she was so weak, sick and on her own and now look at her.
A nice way to end the weekend.

About A Dog Rescue Society

Our rescue, based in Vancouver BC was started in October 2018. Our team has worked together previously to rescue and re-home dogs and we decided to take our passion and create a group of our own.

Our dogs come from various backgrounds, some as simple as owner surrenders, and others coming from situations of neglect and abandonment. We currently work with an amazing rescue group in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and hope to further expand our rescue efforts worldwide. Our rescue knows no boundaries.

We are a registered non-profit and rely solely on donations. Every penny raised goes straight to the dogs or towards spay/neuter clinics and initiatives.
