Here's another great painting made by Josefina's niece Nicole. This isn't one of our dogs but as part of our calendar contest this was one of the weekly prizes and she does such a great job of capturing each dog.
The first 2 painted were my dogs and then we've offered as prizes and also presented as gifts and each one has been really stunning.
This year we'll offer again in our calendar contest and I think we'll have a draw for one at our reunion as I think its so nice to have our dogs painted in their home country by someone connected to us.

Here's Takeshi and he was taken out for one if his favorite things, a scooter ride in the neighborhood.
He still has a bit of time to enjoy these but it won't be long before he comes to Vancouver to find his forever family.

Some of the dogs are easing into 2026, a well deserved post holidays rest for them at Josefina's.

Happy NYE
It's our 2025 year in review, a look back at some of the moments that made 2025.
Rescue days, adoptions, flight days, the people involved and everything else.
A year with challenges, amazing moments, lots of hard work, saying goodbye to dogs we love so much and welcoming in so many more.
We thank you for your support, all the likes and comments, the flight offers, fosters, applications to adopt, donations, together we made it through 7 years in 2025 and at times I don't know how we did it but it's everyone involved in any way that makes this happen.
A special thank you to everyone in Puerto Vallarta, Josefina is the person who ensures all the dogs are cared for in her home or the others and that can only be done with the amazing and selfless people who give so much of their lives to help dogs in need.
Thank you, Muchas gracias from Josefina, Lisa, and myself Mike for another year of About A Dog.

Here's Candy and Stuart, (now named Kennedy Frances and Stuart Alexander).
You couldn't change Stuart's name, it just fits him so well.
This is after bath time all cuddled up, this turned out to be such a nice story, they really started to bond 2 weeks before adoption day and their bond will just continue to grow.

Thank you, muchas gracias to everyone who shared photos of your dogs and holiday wishes.
One of the best things of the holidays is seeing your dogs being spoiled and loved when at one time, most were just trying to survive.
Here's Fifi and her pup Henry celebrating together, Fifi was rescued very pregnant and in awful health but survived and was able to be the best mom to her pups and now shares her life with one.
Happy holidays to all of you

About A Dog Rescue Society

Our rescue, based in Vancouver BC was started in October 2018. Our team has worked together previously to rescue and re-home dogs and we decided to take our passion and create a group of our own.

Our dogs come from various backgrounds, some as simple as owner surrenders, and others coming from situations of neglect and abandonment. We currently work with an amazing rescue group in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and hope to further expand our rescue efforts worldwide. Our rescue knows no boundaries.

We are a registered non-profit and rely solely on donations. Every penny raised goes straight to the dogs or towards spay/neuter clinics and initiatives.
