The centre for disease and control has announced: If you are planning on travelling to the U.S. after August 1st 2024 with a dog you will have to prepare for new travel rules.

The new rules require all dogs entering the U.S. to be at least 6 months, old enough to be vaccinated if required and for the shots to take effect; have a microchip placed under their skin with a code that can be used to verify rabies vaccination; and have completed a new CDC import form.

Parasite season is kicking into high gear! Make sure your pet has a complete protection plan that includes preventive medication. Some parasites in pets cause minimal to zero symptoms and only become noticeable when the infestation has become severe. A comprehensive check is the best way to diagnose your pet and get them the care they need.

As we are heading into the Easter weekend please be mindful that
Chocolate can be dangerous to both dogs and cats, although it tends to be the dogs that we see getting into the chocolate. The toxic signs that we see related to chocolate are very dependent on the type of chocolate, the amount eaten, and the size of the dog. Possible symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, fast heart rates, tremors, seizures, and high enough amounts can be fatal. If your pet gets into chocolate and displaying any of the above symptoms please go to Boreal Veterinary Centre 13940-164 St NW (780-306-4400)
We will be open Monday April 1st.
