Mobile Equine Sports Medicine services based out of Meadowlane Equine (Surrey, BC Canada)
Dr Hodge provides mobile equine services throughout the province of British Columbia. Dr Hodge trained in Europe and spent 6 years in England after completing a year long equine/anaesthesia internship at the Minster Equine Hospital in York. Following his internship he focused his career on equine sports medi
cine by joining a predominantly lameness based practice performing equine MRI scans, lameness workups and running anaesthesia for surgical cases. He gained valuable experience during this time in reproduction, general practice, equine medicine and the care of the equine athlete. In 2012 he moved to the Hamptons (Long Island, NY) and continued working predominantly in equine lameness on TB’s at Belmont Race Track and sports horses throughout Connecticut and New Jersey. His passion for equine veterinary care led him to Oregon and the Pacific Northwest (2015) where he gained valuable experience in gamma scintigraphy (bone scan) as well as western performance horses. He also continued performing anaesthesia for surgery cases. Dr Hodge is a “certified” ISELP member being 1 of only 2 veterinarians in Canada with these credentials. He has found that ISELP has allowed him to utilize ultrasound, MRI, radiology and scintigraphy to enhance his veterinary care. Combining his experience and ISELP certification he has focused on regenerative medicine to treat injuries and return horses to competition. He has also continued his general practice work as he finds it interesting and rewarding. Offering -

Yearling c**t - this yearling has an OCD in the hock which can be “silent” (as in not showing any clinical signs), or “active” which means joint inflammation and joint swelling secondary to the fragment being unstable. Surgery is usually recommended in this case.

3 years ago when Dr Billy made his first trip north to Prince George we never could have imagined it would open so many doors and introduce us to so many amazing people! We’ve decided to finally make a public page so that we are easily accessible for those looking for special specialty equine services in northern BC. So far, we have been working primarily via word of mouth, and hope that this can streamline things for new clients and help others find us without having to ask around.
Stay tuned as we share all future trips Dr Billy makes away from clinic (Prince George, Williams Lake, Kamloops, Salmon Arm, Revelstoke, the Sunshine Coast etc) as well as fun and interesting facts about equine sports medicine!
