Well the Rogue and Decker have given up a beautiful litter of huge kids!!
This litter has some of the best of the US pedigrees and I am pleased at the quality of them.
However, at 1 week and 2 days I cannot believe the size of these guys
To keep up the milk production, Rogue putting away 8 cups of kibble, 1 cup yogurt and 2 boiled eggs daily and all the treats she can get. It’s working they are quite the tanks and should have skateboards at how fast they motor around the box
She is an amazing mom and I just keep an eye on the cameras to see how things are going.
They have passed the singleton baby in size already.
I am averaging 12 return trips to the puppy area a day plus all the forgets and what nots a day
Who need to waste money on a gym membership
But more than worth it.
I even have time to get the snow and dog jewels out of the yard as we have been full of boarders to add excitement to the mix
I think we briefly touched on retirement which translates to same amount of work but just different venue.
And don’t forget My green boyfriend
Yep Nothing like a John Deere requires no feeding or coddling just Grade 1 fuel at regular intervals. He’s a keeper!

The joys of breeding as any breeder will attest to.
Have a very well bred bitch, Molly.
Always struggling with smaller litters. Lovely puppies although not many.
Bred to BISS Amethyst Top Gun and looking forward to a small litter but X-rays confirmed one.
Because of only 1 puppy and larger size schedules a section yesterday.
Voila multiple cysts on left side Of uterus…… problem solved
Whatever pups she has had were probably maintained on the right side. Easy fix instant spay and problem solved
Have no idea if there is discomfort during pregnancy but putting her through full pregnancy with questionable results.
She is in a forever home and she will be loved beyond means with the Pickering Jr’s.
Puppy is big and strong although moms milk not in so back to the 1 1/2 hour dropper feeds. Even though I am a nurse I dislike tube feeds and would rather have do the feeds until things stabilize.
I watched Dr Capao at Pet Vet so carefully remove this big jumble of fragile fluid filled grapes. Took him longer than usual but so impressed with the care in removing this leaky mess.
Mom and baby doing well and I am once again getting acclimating my blow up bed in whelping room
All the comforts of home!

Exciting moments awaiting beginning of 2025!!!
Kaitlin rides to the rescue again
Things are getting readied for the hopeful new arrivals. Things are looking better than last years disappointment of the few pups at the beginning of the year. Some catching up got a large portion of the reserved families with their new babes.
But, things looking much better going into 2025 with some exciting litters on the way and several more down further. Hoping for some promising babes to keep for show.
42 bundles of pristine newspaper lying in wait, areas all ready, X-rays booked, cameras being charged, our amazing vet clinic Pet Vet in the loop.
Getting my last visits in as for the first time in recorded history I can just stay at home with the litters!!!
60+ years and I will be home the whole time.
Anyone recommend a good psychiatrist!
Some people planning on trips…not me!

Well you sneaky folks
Went out for a dinner with friends and walked right into a retirement dinner!!!!
I had talked with these people within the last few days and weeks not a single word from anyone
Even did a breeding with Gord and Michelle and only talk was the nationals just passed and all the stud dogs I wanted that had gone off to the Atlanta shows!
No everyone had gone off to the restaurant
I was absolutely stunned.
Surrounding me was part of my whole world all together to wish me well on to my next page in my book.
As I sit here typing this out, my question is how can someone be so lucky to be surrounded by such wholesome wonderful people
Some I have known since my father’s passing that helped make me get whole again.
And so many that were my crutches to get over Lorne’s demise.
But all together are just an amazing set of folks that can joke together compete against one another and support each other when times get tough!
To all of you know that I love and appreciate you all and I will continue to be here for you as well if and when I am needed.
My daughter continues to astound me with her support and direction because Dana is the one person I am not stupid enough to take on
Thanks to her and you all

What a weekend
14 of the 17 kids are just about all gone to their new homes
Anyone who dares mention how much money those kids made me are liable to get poked In the eye with a sharp stick or just get slapped Long side the head.
How many ways can you spell work.Every trip up and down those stairs I swear to god someone added another stair each time.
Wonderful homes
4 new families were children whose parents had purchased a dog from me when they were kids
One couple, both sets of parents had dogs from me previously.
So fulfilling to know that you have made such a difference in a family that the next generation comes to get their family member.
Course me In my mixed up world look out see these beautiful young people and realize that I am getting a wee bit past my prime.
Can’t see myself supplying dogs for the next generation.
Ecstatic with all of my new families, this is why I do it! Amazing!
And in the midst of the confusion, Kaitlin continues to do her magic dogs moved, pens broken down and things put back in place amidst the confusion.
All the covers off the kennels and folded and put away for next year.
Then just to make things lovely, Kaitlin and Dawson put out the critters for Xmas.
Thank God for the young’uns!
Getting ready for the big S, Dawson put up my snow fencing! Always Coors available for that great guy!

Well here I am in St Johns airport for my last scheduled trip home from Avalon Kennel Club show
Had a wonderful seafood dinner last evening with great dinner companions Brian Reid and Diane Miller.
Thank you to this very active club for a lovely stay hospitality and sharing your incredible competitors.
A longer lay over in Toronto allows me to touch base with Brent Spurr and compare notes and recent goings on.
Things will get busy as majority of kids will need to get ready to go to their new homes.
Everyone have a lovely Thanksgiving with friends and families eat lots and laugh more!!!😍

I am home and what happened!!!!
Who turned off the heat?
I stepped outside the airport and right into an ad for “Frozen”.
Guys no joke!
Got home and turned on my electric blanket.
Leave for 5 days and everything goes to hell in a hand basket.
Going to the city to do catch up and am considering a parka😿

Finished and just at the hotel in Phoenix
Home tomorrow.
Waiting for Gordon Sousa from a million years ago and we are going out for dinner.
Amazing to see him th ring!!!!! Brings back a flood of memories!
It has been like an inferno.
My hats off to the Arrowhead Kennel club keeping everything running so smoothly under this exhausting heat. You cannot say enough great things about these folks!
I was over at the A/C restaurant about a block away and decided to walk back to the show to prove I could be as tough these folks!
Don’t let anyone tell you I am getting smarter with age
You can just feel the energy gets sucked out of you!
How can so many people be so gracious and friendly with this incredible heat

Hats off to everyone and the dogs performed amazingly well.
I just kept thinking about snow

Can you believe it 104 degrees and exhibitors and dogs are doing very well.
Me maybe not so well
When it’s 49 below remind me of this.
Everyone as usual so nice and helpful
Dogs are of really good quality and groups are hard to narrow down to 4

Well as the book continues, 2 hour delay on the Calgary -Phoenix flight. Customs wild but amazingly efficient….reminded me of being at Disneyland minus rides and screaming kids.
They did provide everyone with a meal voucher so looking around at the mass of people and hoping that scheduling stays the same. Hoping to have dinner with Betty B of Lab and bulldogs fame.
Count down to last assignment next weekend in Newfoundland and retirement right afterwards.
Need to get the Lab Cab also into shape following the transmission, starter replacements and then in being assessed for Autopac for my vehicle intervention a couple of months ago. While it’s in, will finally to everyone’ relief have the passenger door fixed when I accidentally kissed my own tree. Since I’m apparently going for broke, may as well put a new back bumper on as 195,000 Kim’s of gravel road with my job has toasted it.
Is there a new way to spell poverty without saying it loudly.
Everyday a new day!!!

Wow, what a day we had! The morning kicked off with all of us bouncing up to greet Auntie at the door of our puppy area, wagging tails and letting out some enthusiastic vocals. She took one look at the chaos we created overnight—let’s just call it our "puppy masterpiece"—and, well, Auntie definitely had some *strong opinions* about our creativity. But she knew that little box was never going to hold us forever; we’re way too clever for that! Sure enough, our hard work paid off, and we got an upgrade—a bigger space to run, play, and, of course, start plotting our next escape.
