Went out for a drive yesterday evening with Ember and Kolt, who both usually drive single, so we had some learning curves!

Well this trailer has served us well! We packed a wagon, 2 carts, 6 minis, hay, shavings and tack for them all in there!

Now it’s time to let it go on to its new home! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Off we went to a 5 year olds birthday party this afternoon with our 27 year old Buzz Lightyear who mainly pulls the wagon/sleigh added pony rides to his resume! He loved all the attention!

We hauled out to Miami for the first time to compete with our miniatures! We even got to use our new stock gooseneck trailer for the first time!
The morning started off rough, arriving with a migraine and showing up compete was a bit of a mess today the least, huge thank you to everyone that helped me get horses out of the trailer, prepped, get entries paid, the day turned out wonderful! It started off hot but just after last class the sky opened up in downpour!
The kiddos tried to knock it out of the park and they did for their first show of the season!
Miss Baby joined us for her first show since being a rehabbed cripple who had a lot of issues with curled feet, bad attitude, she enjoyed herself in her class but she didn’t place as she was super excited, which is ok!

Our Miss Finale underwent eye removal surgery yesterday afternoon. She had punctured her eye while on pasture.
Her dam, Ember, talked to her the whole time while being checked on this morning.
First 2 is Finale with eye stitched, last is 2 days before surgery.

Our gorgeous girl, foal off my Dads Arabian mare, was my sister’s mount for most of her years. My sister trained her to do anything that was asked of her, took her into 4-H and trail rode everywhere with her.

She was reliable for all ages and skill levels to ride, was used in my lesson program for years, then used as a casual trail horse.

She also raised 3 foals, and has always loved mothering the minis, even if they didn’t need mothering LOL

Last summer was her last riding year, and she did 2 competitions, getting placings in the first show and winning overall in the second. A 3rd was planned but she started showing her soreness in her knees.

Arthritis was managed daily but she started limping more n more, to where the medication wasn’t working any more.

Decision between my sister and I were mutually agreed upon that she be laid to rest on the Farm.

Run free sweet Abi, until we see you again, you are so loved

Yesterday we got to haul out to a Winnipeg school and give wagon rides to grades K-6!! So many kids loved the rides!! Buzz and Shadow handled everything in stride from kids running around them, bouncy castles and laser tag!

What a week it’s been!

Our foaling season was over so quickly!

Jessie gave us a beautiful paint filly on Monday, just after midnight, which we named Harper & Piper gave us a stunning black filly on Wednesday, at 2:13am, named Nova! Both girls are available!

Saturday afternoon loaded up and headed out to the last Winter Events jackpot in St Andrews with Fritz, we ended up in the bottom of the 1D!

Saturday evening, we headed out to a birthday party for pony rides with our stallion, Kolt, for his first time giving rides, he was a champ and gave kids rides like a sleepy gentleman that he is!

Today we loaded up Mrs Opal & Mr Magnum for their new homes! Opal will be in a growing lambing operation for a friend & Magnum gets to be a sweet talker to many more ladies!
Opal is pregnant to Magnum now, beleive she’s due April/May so stay tuned for updates on her!

Day 1 of Royal Winter Fair in Brandon for us with some of our minis!
We loaded up & headed out to participate in the Royal Experience with our Manitoba Miniature Horse Club with driving all ages. With members of our club we had a total of 6 minis giving rides!
We took our 6 year old stallion Kolt, 8 year old gelding Shadow & 20 year old mare Ember!!
As a club we pulled together to get smiles on so many faces! Also the club came together with harness and carts when we didn’t have enough, that’s teamwork!
We hauled home but we head back Friday for barrel racing!

Tonight we headed out for a double header barrel race in Richer, Fritz is learning how to add some speed while playing in the mud, still need to clean up around the barrels but we will get there! We placed Open 3D 1st and Open 3D 3rd! Video is the Open 3D 1st run, thank you Ciarra Riddle for videoing!

Tonight we hauled Fritz out to Grunthal and for the first time, actually asked for speed. We got lots to clean up but we have barely tapped his motor. We placed in the 3D 3rd with a 19.7 😁 now to make it cleaner, he will probably leave me sliding off his rump. #winningtouchequineservices #magnawave

Just a little of our busy weekend!

Took Fritz out to another toonie jackpot to keep learning more and we attempted a lope through the pattern. Even though we are working through everything, and his stumble at 3rd, it was an overall not bad experience. We had an opportunity to have a second run, which we did and we had a gorgeous 1st barrel and slowly getting better for 2nd & 3rd without issue. Sorry we didn’t get a video for the second run.

Went out to our first pole bending practice and had a great time. Fritz was a rock star! Slow and steady makes a great start.

Piper says it’s cold but the baby belly needs to chill some!

Well, tried taking the sleigh out again after doing modifications, made the loop but still a couple more things to fix after the weekend of repairing vehicles, got one vehicle repaired though!
