TailBlazers are hosting World Team member Karen Childs for a four day seminar October 24-28. We are holding this at Springhill Farms in their large, spacious barn in Courtenay.

We are offering two day working spots and a contact and weaves session. There are a few spots still available. Pm Kathy Smith for more details.

Hi All, Just a reminder that the current Sports Obedience people will be graduating tomorrow, Thursday Sept 7th. The first class that was formerly the 4:45 class will now be at 6pm and the 7:30 will stay at it's same time.
It will be graduation! Bring lots of treats and remember it will be at the Therapy Barn. I will have the sign out for the first week. Agility Foundations classes will start next week for those who would like to continue on. :) email me if you have any further questions.

HI All, I know many of you have been asking and I am trying to catch up but am so far behind... My Sister Karen got home from the hospital late last night after a week and a half and is still being treated as an out patient but things are going in the right direction.

I will catch up shortly if you have emailed or had questions. Classes will start back in September at the barn.

Here is video from the Shauna Oliver seminar in Victoria! We ran our butts off, I tried not to get bitten with the tug (video clip nested in this to show you how stupid I am to let a Terrier go in behind 😜), and we enjoyed it SO much! Hi All, our new classes are full but spots do come open at the last minute so those who didn't get in please don't give up quite yet! We may start another... Just working on dates and times... not sure that we can fit it in yet.

For those enrolled please be advised that we are going to push the dates a week. I will send out an email tonight. IT IS TOO HOT! I wish we had water at the field as a dog pool or hose would mean we can keep going but this weather is way too hot on bark mulch. When it says "feels like 34-36" that is too hot for dogs and people!!

So we will start next week on July 13th!! I will send out emails with more details. In the meantime... keep cool!!

HI all, we are now full in both Sports Obedience classes. I am just getting to the final etransfers and receipts. It will be followed with a Confirmation email as well.
We will offer another soon as well! And there will be a class or two in the fall so no worries if you did not get into these ones. I will get to everyone at some point! Happy training!!

Hi All, I will get to more people tonight regarding the Sports Obedience. Spots will be sold in the order that I receive responses and etransfers so no worries if you don’t hear from me right away. I work nights and am working this afternoon as well so will catch up later. At this point we are half full in both classes with many responding.

Hi all,

I will be opening up our Sports Obedience for sign up tomorrow (June 21st). We will be starting Thursday, July 6th and there will be two available times. One at 4:45 and the other at 7:30. There will be two instructors per class. A small dish and a 20 foot longline will be required for the class. I sell really pretty biothane ones!! Treats and toys also will be used.

This is a prerequisite to get into our Agility Foundation class. We teach impulse control, heeling, sits stays, toy play, life skills, recalls and much much more! This is a games based, positive training class that goes for 5 weeks. We do not condone E-collars so please do not bring any on the premises.

More info to come!! I will contact those who have already enquired privately or on this page. Please be patient though, there are a LOT of people waiting to get in!! There may be another class added if we cannot fit everybody into these two classes.

Hi All, sorry I have been AWOL and having email problems as well. All seems to be fixed now! We will be offering Sports Obedience courses shortly! Just attending our Regionals event this weekend and then will announce days/times.

There will be at least two different classes available, possibly three!
Most people will get in! I know everyone has waited SO long…

This class goes on to Agility Foundations. We have SO much fun! And you end up with a lot of training skills and a well behaved dog!

Well, what a fabulous weekend! So many fantastic runs! Lots of volunteers! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Our small crew had to work so hard as we were short our normal people but we did it!! We are all very exhausted but proud of those who stepped up to make it work! We could not have done any of this without you.

Special thanks to our judges Ivy Seney, Nicki Gurr and Tara Betrand had a most excellent debute!! Everyone will want to run her courses in the future!!

Well that was a GREAT fun meet! Thanks to all who came! So many fantastic starter dogs and so much fun! Everyone had their dogs flying… maybe not in the right direction but it was fun!

Tessa did all straight lines and has probably tripled her speed! Not much listening going on but she had a good time! Boog crashed a jump and freaked himself out. I think he was more freaked that I was so worried. Happy to report he was a barking leaping fool when we got home, ate a big lunch and now sound asleep in my lap. No video but both dogs had some wonderful moments.

Just So happy to see so many smiling faces, dogs and people! Thanks everybody for making this a fun time and thanks to Tara-lee Houtman Bertrand for her awesome courses and Anna Lupacchino for judging and measuring. We really make newbies so much more comfortable going into their first trials with these super informative fun meets. Hope we get another one in the barn soon!

Hi all, final details for the Fun Meet this Sunday will go out shortly… we have Tara Bertrand and Anna Lapuccino as judges again! There will be measuring, course building, and lots of info to help you learn about the trial environment. Great shopping with vendors and many draws for special prizes! Should be done early . The TailBlazers March Trial should be open for entry on Agility Rocks tonight! Esteemed judges Tara Bertrand and Ivy Seney. Three jumpers and three standards plus all the games.
We have a great group and always have a lot of fun. Hope to see you there!

SAVE THE DATE! Sunday, February 19th will be another TailBlazers fun meet!
These events are so great for proofing skills in a trial-like environment! Treats and toys encouraged… there will be great vendors and prizes, real judges and etiming.

ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!

We are hosting the last FunMeet of the season on Sunday, December 18th, 2022! All levels welcome! We will have Starters/ Advanced mixed and Masters only. A Standard, Steeplechase and Jumpers. Go in the ring with toys and treats!!

Judges Tara Bertrand and Anna Lupacchino will offer beautiful courses, measuring and we will teach you all the volunteer jobs that we need to do in an actual trial.

We will have TWO Mutts as Vendors for shopping and Dog Days Photography taking professional Christmas photos so bring your wallets!!

So great for starters dogs or people new to trialing and Masters people proofing weaves and contacts in the ring. :)

We had an excellent trial last weekend despite it’s rough start! So many laughs, finished earlier than our timeline each day and had a wonderful dinner with judges and friends. ❤️
The TailBlazers Crew worked their butts off as usual!
The courses from Marian McCormack and Anna Lupacchino were wonderful and nesting made the trial go I incredibly fast. Everyone stepped to the line to volunteer. We are so grateful for your help!

Well, my truck broke down and couldn’t get my trailer to Courtenay but all the TailBlazers peeps stepped up to the plate as usual! We are all set up! Thanks to Tara-lee Houtman Bertrand for the photo! She climbed the bleachers to get this shot, LOL.
Hosting trials is never for the faint of heart. But it is Tessa’s debute so whether it is a s**t show or fabulous we will still have fun and post video!

Tessa is yelling! She just heard Karen Child’s is coming back to TailBlazers twice next year!

We have tentative dates, not firmed up as of yet but I know a lot of you are waiting to hear. It looks like early May and late October 2023. Stay tuned for actual dates!

You can get on a list now and if the dates don’t work for you I will not commit you to them until we hear for sure and firm things up. Those in the last seminar get first dibs. 😊❤️😎😎😎
