For those of you that have been keeping up with Copper, he is now available!

Born May 2nd 2018, this handsome gelding was out of a pony mare by a paint stallion. He’s a solid 13.2 fellow with excellent feet. He’s good for the farrier and has been shod all around for feedlot work (currently barefoot). Up to date on shots (last spring) and deworming (ivermectin after frost, Pyrantel in February). He’s great to bathe, lead, tie, blanket and deworm (he loves it). Loads and travels great.

Copper was rode in the feedlot so he’s seen everything associated with that- cattle, feed trucks, tractors, loaders and skid steers. I’ve fired the dart gun off him, .22 off his back, thrown a rope off him (not roped yet), and opened hundreds of gates. He’s been ponied and has ponied other horses. Copper has been trail rode both alone and in groups across all types of terrain including fields, forests, snow and water! He’s gone into the bush for bonfires pulling all our gear behind in a sled. He has also been rode indoors on a few occasions. Copper has done some basic jumping over bales, nothing too challenging, and he was honest and forward over the obstacles.

He’s broke to drive single with an open bridle in a sleigh, have not had a chance to put him in a cart. He’s harrowed the arena, pulled the sled and tires. He’s a tough guy and will throw his weight into the collar!

Copper has good buttons and rides best in a shanked snaffle. He’s very light and beginning to ride one handed. Copper will turn on forehand and haunches, work laterally at walk and trot, side-pass and backs freely. He is a very smooth ride in all gaits.

Copper is quiet enough for me to ride with two dogs- one in front and one behind me in the saddle! He is also athletic enough to efficiently work the feedyard. Although he would be excellent to teach beginners on he is not a beginner pony. Copper should go to a home with experience, with an intermediate rider or better unsupervised, or beginner who is supervised by a parent or instructor. He is the perfect size for the kids to ride, but a small adult or teen can easily get along with him too!

Copper is going to make some family very happy! I really do love the little guy, he’s a sweetheart and always wants to hang out with you. It always happens you want to keep them around when it’s time to go!

I have plenty of photos, and videos and am happy to answer any questions you may have about him, but please reread before asking 😉 Located near Moosomin, SK.

Please contact for price.

Finally a nice afternoon to take the pony for a spin! The dogs were happy for the run too.
