📣 Call for donations: We are in need of canned cat food donations. Your food donation will help feed the more than 100 cats in our care.

Donations of canned food can be made in two ways:

👉 Drop off donations at our Adoption Centre*, Regal Cat Cafe, or MEOW Charity Thrift Shop.

MEOW depends on donations from wonderful folks like you in order to provide care to the stray and abandoned cats at our Adoption Centre, foster homes, and remote adoption locations. In addition to canned food, MEOW also accepts and appreciates donations of dry food (including opened bags).

*If you plan to donate directly to our Adoption Centre, please come to the back door (located in the alleyway) and drop off any items in the grocery cart.

Have you heard of “Think & Thump” before? It’s that time of year when we need to practice this to help protect animals!

Before starting your car, remember to tap or lightly thump the hood of your car. Small animals, such as cats may be using your vehicle for shelter and warmth, and this noise will alert them to move.

Other safety precautions include checking for animal tracks or signs of life around your vehicle or, honking your horn and listening for any sounds of movement.

Lucie is recruiting participants for her thesis project on ‘Cat-Owner Relationship Styles and Association with Problem Behaviour' for her MSc Clinical Animal Behaviour degree at the University of Lincoln. 👩🏼‍🎓

Today is National Fire Pet Safety Day, created in an effort to help protect pets from home fires. We encourage you to mark the occasion by updating your personal fire safety plans. Not sure where to start? Here are some helpful to do’s for pet guardians:

🛑 Include your pets in your family evacuation plan, with a safe location to bring your pet.
🛑 Never leave pets alone around an open flame - keep a close eye on any candles!
🛑 Ensure your pet is microchipped or ID’d in the chance of separation
