🔦 Adopt a Cat Month Spotlight 🔦
Like a golden nugget, our Nugget is a treasure. While in foster care, we discovered this sweet guy is so good with little kids. He shows interest in going outside and tries to catch mosquitos when he sees them flying around. He absolutely LOVES snuggles and would be grateful for a soft bed to cuddle with his human at night. He may also claim the most comfortable chair in the house for his afternoon naps. Nugget is litter trained and has never tried to counter surf or touch any human food when left unattended. Doesn’t this fella sound like the purrfect addition to your home? Stop in and meet our handsome boy!
Adoption Fee: $100 NOW $50.00*

Someone call the press! We have a story to tell! The band is breaking up! Their tour is coming to an abrupt halt!
Joni (the pups mom/manager) has handed in her resignation. She is pending an application for a new job! One with a little less stress, I am sure! And maybe a few less wake up calls in the middle of the night. We all know how band members like to party.
The band started to unravel at the seems with their initial vet exam. Stevie got the OK from the doctor and she flew the coop immediately. Left no notice for her brothers or sisters. The band was in chaos. Stevie now represents a solo act going by the name Nala! Stevie/Nala won over the hearts of a fam jam further south and she didn’t hesitate to hit the road… solo this time!
Hendrix has been humming and hawing over his separation from his crew. The final decision was in when his new managers decided he was the star of their show.
We are sure the press is going to have an absolute hay day over the dissolution of this amazing group.
We have a few band members looking for new gigs! They are highly motivated to work (for treats). Enjoy the great outdoors and are ready to sing for their new managers!

CAT ADOPTION EVENT EXTENEDED!
🐱🐈🐱🐈🐱🐈🐱
50% OFF ADOPTION FEES continues for the month of FEBRUARY‼ 🤗
Cat Intake is currently closed at Northern Lights Regional Humane Society until we are able to find homes for more of our adoptable cats. While a few felines did find homes in January, the empty condos had new residents within hours.
If you are unable to add a cat to your family, please help by hitting the share button so we can spread the word and find our very deserving felines loving homes.
Adoption Fee includes a current vet check, up-to-date vaccines, rabies vaccine, deworming, microchip identification, and spay/neuter (if age appropriate). A total value of approx. $600!
Remember, adopting an animal is a long-term commitment. Your new friend will likely be with you for years to come. Indoor cats live for an average of 12-15 years, but it is also perfectly normal for well cared for cats to live to be 20 years old.
* Adoption process still applies. Expires February 28, 2024.

**EXTREME COLD WARNING**
Wind chill values as low as -50 expected
The extreme cold will continue in the High Level region and go into the weekend, with Saturday morning and Sundsy morning being the coldest, with temperatures ranging from -40 to -45, and wind chill values near -50.
The best way to protect your pets during extreme cold? Bring them inside!
Please make sure your pets are inside or have access to heated shelter. Cats and dogs are sensitive to severe cold and are at risk for frostbite and hypothermia during extreme cold snaps. Exposed skin on noses, ears, and paw pads can quickly freeze and suffer permanent damage. Cold weather can threaten a pets life. Kittens, pups, and other small pets will not survive these temperatures. If you see a stray animal out in the cold, please give them a warm place to stay.

Last week, staff made sure that each dog and cat in the shelter had a stocking on their kennel before Santa Paws' arrival, but little Dancer seems to think its his new toy! Hopefully, it's still fully intact for Santa Christmas morning. 😆

Friday evening, we were contacted about a cat found at the Chin, west of High Level. His finder had remembered seeing online that someone had lost their cat in the same area when they were evacuated due to the wildfire back in May.
It wasn't long after we received the message, "The cat lost during the rainbow lake evacuation is the cat we found! They are on their way to come get the cat."
We're so happy the kitty is back home safe with his family. 🐱❤️ Happy endings are the greatest! 🥰

Many people don't think to check our page to look for missing pets. This little cutie was found curled up in the snowbank outside the local Provincial Bldg and is missing home. She is well looked after, clean and wearing a red collar. Please share and help find her owners.

Thor and Shadow have become great friends. They play non-stop and have such a fun time together. Both of these boys are still looking for loving homes of their own. If you are looking for a four legged companion that is loyal, likes adventure, fun and walks, either of these boys would make a great addition.
Oh my goodness 😍
Mufasua has made himself right at home in his foster home for the holidays. His foster brother has accepted him with open paws and is seen here grooming Mufasua.
Christmas is fast approaching, and we still have many animals looking to be fostered over the holiday season!
Not only does it give a shelter animal a break from the shelter and a taste of love and comfort in a loving home, it also relieves the workload off our staff and volunteers through the holidays so they too can enjoy the holidays with their families!
While we are looking mainly for dog foster homes, we may have a couple cats still looking as well. Please call the shelter at 780-926-5520 or email [email protected] for more info.
Please note: All foster families must have an approved foster application to ensure our residents have the absolute best care while in their foster homes!
