Fig and mama Trudy

Trudy is such a wonderful mom. Here she is with her son, Fig (black boy). Newton (brown boy) was sitting on my lap as this was being recorded. www.templecitypoodles.ca

Trudy's pups have found their legs, and their eyes opened a few days ago. They had their faces shaved for the first time and are such handsome boys. Taking guesses on how they will fade. Fig could go blue or silver, and Newton could go café au lait or silver beige. We will find out in a couple more weeks! www.templecitypoodles.ca

There are a definite 2 puppies, with a likely 3rd (and possibly 4th) on the way. Trudy x Harvey babies. I will start setting up the whelping box later this week. Very excited for this litter! www.templecitypoodles.ca

Obedience foundations with Macadamia

A very simple session with 10.5 week old Mackie. A wild child 99% of the time, and a diligent student when treats and scritchies are involved. I am very pleased with her "get-ins" at my side, and how well she is doing with heeling and sitting when asked. Our goal right now is simply to learn how to work together, and to build a foundation of focus, and a love of learning. She offers 'sits' like a pro, and one of her favourite tricks is to spin. We are training in the washroom 😆 It provides a different floor area to work with than she is used to. www.templecitypoodles.ca

Clicker training with Peanut! She had just been playing for nearly an hour, so she didn't have her game on like she otherwise would. This little girl is usually dynamite!

Nut Litter 2022 - 17 days old

Finding their little personalities! Cashew and Pecan are adventurous and full of trouble. Pecan wants to escape the whelping box and see the world. Acorn was our little social butterfly today, and came right up to me, even when Hazel was inside of the box and available. I am honoured she chose me over her food source! Lol. Macadamia's eyes are still opening, so she wasn't entirely sure what was going on this whole time. (She is the larger cream one sitting up next to Cashew). And little Peanut just wanted to sleep! Crazy sisters, she says.

This video was taken last year at one of our agility fun matches, before our first official trial of the year. Trudy is such a rockstar of a partner on the field. This isn't a perfect run (we hadn't worked on weave poles very much prior, so if you watch closely you can see she cuts out of them early), but it is golden to me. I love working with this little jelly bean. She sure keeps me in line! We do what we love, and we love what we do ~

Puppy Enrichment

Puppy vet checks went great today-- all of the Pie and Mockingbird puppies have a clean bill of health. Here is Jem after his exam and microchip-- he is such a lover boy 😍 Sweet little guy who loves people. Notice in the beginning-- he sees a human, makes eye contact, and sits politely. These pups have been taught to "mand," AKA sit in order to ask for attention (or food, etc.). This gives them an alternative way to communicate with us rather than jumping or barking to get what they want. Just one step closer to a happier, more well-adjusted puppy. #puppyculture www.templecitypoodles.ca

Bath time with Jean Louise! The Mockingbird Litter is now 2 weeks old and grooming introductions have begun. Face shaves, nail trims, baths, etc. are started from an early age to acclimate the puppy to normal grooming procedures. www.templecitypoodles.ca

"TempleCity's Bread & Butter" Trudy CKC Cream Toy Poodle Loves bubbles, learning new tricks, digging holes, playing outside, snuggling, belly rubs, food of any kind, and being told she is a good girl. Our Story

Our family has over 40 years of experience in the Poodle breed. Our dogs are our family and have free access to roam the house, a large backyard, and high quality, premium dog food. We are located in Alberta, Canada. We show our dogs in conformation and are training towards agility, obedience, CGN titles, and scentwork. The Poodle is an exceptionally smart breed that enjoys a variety of activities. They are bright, eager to please, and quick to catch onto new concepts. All of our puppies, whether show/performance or pet quality, are introduced to obedience skills, agility equipment, and being handled on a table. Our puppies are born in our home where they are handled daily and introduced to grooming at a very young age. ENS (early neurological stimulation) begins at 3 days old. We use Puppy Culture protocols to help socialize and mentally enrich our puppies, raising them to their fullest potential. They are well socialized with people, kids, other dogs, and will be accustomed to everyday life to give them the best start. The puppies are ready to go at approximately 10 weeks old. We specialize in lighter colours, such as white and cream, but on occasion we will get other colours such as apricot, blue, and silver. We do not always have puppies for sale. Our numbers are small to ensure each dog receives individual attention. If we do not have what you are looking for, we can put you on our waiting list, or refer you to another breeder.
