It’s all for the cats! These two. 😻😻 When I needed money I started a weird little business selling things for cats.

😻It all started with Pancake, my first cat that didn’t respond to catnip. What’s a catmum to do?! At the time I was working in veterinary industry and found a scholarly article about alternative herbs, such as silver vine, honeysuckle, and valerian root. And off things went, just to appease this destructive devil.

😸Then my Wayne. A chronic pain sufferer who is a bit spicy but she still deserves everything she wants. She’s the ultimate herb tester and has broken her way into many forms of herb storage, including a 20 lb box of catnip. She prefers honeysuckle’s mellow high, is a professional blanket model (DM for hire) and loves time on a Self Warming Blanket to ease her inflammation.

If you have an idea that feels unusual or hard to explain, just go do it, try it out. I have met so many people out in public through selling cat stuff, which can be awkward to explain to people who don’t get it. (Cat haters, we are over hearing your crap so shut it.) Cat lovers, pet parents, admirers, the people who do get it love it, and I have been privileged to be a safe ear for those who want to gush to me about their pets. Thanks for bringing that positivity and appreciating the weird. It’s not crazy to be a crazy cat person, it’s pretty awesome actually. 😎

ICYMI: I dropped the news that this weekend’s will be my last show EVER!

Thank you for all the love. Reflecting on closing this chapter has made me think about all the Friends and Family who have been there before and after FM, thank you to:

The ultimate Catdad, Justin. 😻 Who has hauled FM show-gear, built backdrops, and circled the block to avoiding parking tickets. He helped with sewing machine maintenance and fabric pepperoni cutting. And then while this Catmom was off selling cat toys at a show, he sent updates from the homestead of our two sleeping cats who definitely dont pull their weight.

My cat’s grandpurrents, my Mom and Dad. My mom who became a second toy maker when I needed more product for OOAK19, and she consistently listens to my whacky ideas. My Dad who became an impromtu cat toy sales person when I needed a break. And my bro and friends (like and !) who gifted every cat they knew FM over the years. 😉

My friends first, and vendor buds second, Alex and Elena , it was fun to become business owners along side each other, share tips, motivate, and support each other. 💃💃💃

You may have noticed Frisky Misky's Feline Euphorium has dwindled down a lot. No more etsy or shows. It’s time for this cat toy maker to move on. The catnip has run out and I think my freezer should go back to food instead of herbs.
📣 This 613Christmas will be my last show EVER! 😿

There are many things to buy for cats, and for many years lots of you chose my cat toys. Thank you for that. Keep it going, spoil them kitties, they deserve it! Please continuing buying local, handmade, or from small businesses.

A word about the makers, show organizers, and vendor friends who hustle hard and contribute to the Ottawa craft show scene: Thank you! What an incredible thing we do, making and collecting stuff, packing it all up and unpacking it somewhere else for people (and cats) to love and enjoy. We work hard and there are leaders in this community who work harder to make the space for all of us to try, thrive, and learn together. People like Cheerfully Made Goods + Markets Emily, 613flea Catherine and fam, the inspiring Vintage Pop-up 613 Elena and Aida, Pride, Not Prejudice Fair K-Rae and Jon, and more, put shows on that actually change people’s lives through giving them opportunities to create, work, and play. Shops like Purrdy Paws Pet Grooming Spa and Feline Café Ottawa have been a special part of the FM run, I encourage you to continue to support small businesses.

A special shout out to the creative wizard that is Elena Chiara Palanza, who designed the FM logo. I started FM while transitioning between career fields and it quickly became a place to build confidence, learn new skills, and challenge me. If you have been thinking of selling something you make, just do it, it’s a fun ride and the people are the best. I’ll continue supporting this community as a shopper at shows - well, until the next idea and I get the itch to return.

Slow blinks and head boops to all the cats getting stoned, mellowing out, or partying on with my toys. None of you can read this, but I’ve loved hearing about you from your humans, seeing your cute faces with a new toy, and knowing that I’ve made your day better. Party on beasties.
