A little about Sandra ...

I began house-sitting in 2018. I started cat-sitting for a girlfriend in White Rock since about a year and a half ago. I have since been house-sitting for a condo owner who goes away half the time. I do it for extra money, and I sleep over for convenience. I enjoy it because I can work online at the same time as sitting for other people. It's a win-win situation ... I work and help people and the house is not vacant and pets enjoy some company. I am finding out more and more that people do want to get away for a few days and need a good reliable caring person to take care of their pets at their home. A while back, in Quebec, I used to look after my parent’s property on the rare occasion that they would both go on a multiple-week vacation. I would stay overnight, collect mail, do some light gardening, and basically go back and forth from work, until they returned. They felt better knowing that their garden was being tended to, their grass was being watered, and their daughter was at their home taking care of things. I have been raised with dogs. I had a female childhood dog, half Miniature Collie and half German Shepherd. She was so loving, caring, and protective all wrapped up in a bundle of soft long fur. She remained by my side until she passed on. After that I owned a few cats while I lived in apartment suites. I have experience with both dogs and cats, and respect their well-being. I do not impose myself on the pets, as I am in their space, but am willing to interact with them without overstepping their boundaries and comfort-zones. I do enjoy playing with pets, talking with them, and keeping them company while their owners are away. I have even found myself talking with fish LOL and actually interacting with them LOL believe it or not LOL I usually keep a clean house, so, if I notice there is a lot of fur around, I would pass a quick vacuum to keep the place as tidy as I found it (if the owner’s don’t mind I use their vacuum). I might pass a quick duster as well to maintain the home. I like to make the least amount of impact from the start to finish of my house & pet sitting jobs. If I can help out the owner while I’m there, I’m always open to suggestions. I can work between 2-day stays to multiple weeks in a row. I have flexible availability most of the time, but please keep in mind that Winter/Spring is a great time for travel for a lot of people, so please book early.
