It is with the heaviest heart that I write this tribute to Toby “Two Bits”. Many of you knew and loved Toby, and he was best known for being a Foodie with a discerning palate, a dapper boy who travelled to the beat of his own drum and best of all, Toby was known for following his nose wherever the scent took him. Toby, you were my greatest challenge and my favourite Good Boy. Thank you for teaching me, growing with me and my company and most of all, thank you for bringing your parents and I together. A friendship was formed and I will always cherish it. Thank you. Rest easy now Toby. You are free to safely follow your nose over the rainbow bridge and begin your next adventure.

The past few weeks have been hard. As a dog Walker we spend our days with dogs and those dogs wiggle into our hearts and become our best friends. And when you’ve been walking as long as I have, eventually you have to say goodbye to some of those best friends.

My Jersey Girl, the grizzly bear of labs and tester of all my patience. My “right hand” at the park for almost 13 years. Rest easy sweet girl.

Kaley “KayKay”, my feisty, spicy, crazy doodle. You never knew when to back off or mind your own business, but you kept me on my toes and taught me much. Fly free sweet Kay.

Sweet sweet Ziggy. Little “Zig zag”. You were taken too early. You had a beautiful demeanour and zest for life.
Your tragic passing was a shock to all, but your light shines bright in our hearts. Shine on sweet girl.

These three beautiful souls join those that passed before them over the rainbow bridge. Forever in our hearts.

Nope, that’s not blood.
I was walking in the park with the dogs and I brushed up against a tree and got sprayed with this red liquid. Not having any clue what it was or where it came from, I reached out to for answers and they did not disappoint!
Here is what they said:
“It (the tree) likely has a canker which is a fungus. The ooze is how it spreads to other susceptible trees. Not harmful to people but best washed or wiped off before moving to other places. If you use a facial tissue or wipe to clean it off, put the wipe in the garage. Do not compost it.”
Guys, nature is nuts.
