Well it appears the little Mama we had in emergency Saturday night into Sunday for a severe asthma attack is not quite out of the woods. She seems to have some fluid in her abdomen and so she is going to need further testing. With her emergency bill of $1550 hanging over us this further testing will really send our vet bills sky rocketing. We are so grateful to those who have already donated but we ask those who have not yet donated but who are in a position to do so to please consider donating something towards our ever mounting vet bill. Even small donations add up! We cannot do this work without our supporters. Please help us to help this little mama cat (and the others that are still needing further vet care!). e-transfer is to [email protected] Thank you!! Please share this post. <3
Here is a video of the wonderful Mr. Louie up for adoption through NSNAP. If you would like to meet Louie please contact us at nsnap@cogeco and we will send you out an application. Once we have that we will be happy to arrange a meet and greet. Louie needs to be the only fur child in the family. To read Louie's full bio and to see the many cats and kittens up for adoption with NSNAP please go to this link: https://www.petfinder.com/shelters/ON460.html
Update for Declan and his siblings: Declan continues to flourish. He had his stitches out on Saturday. He is done with all his meds with the exception of one, which was cut back. He is still on prescription food and will stay on that for a while longer yet and we will keep monitoring him to make sure everything keeps working as it should! As you can see from the video below, in all respects Declan is a regular jumpy, bouncy life-loving kitten thanks to all of you who have supported his journey to health!! His siblings had a second round of antibiotics, eye drops and other meds but are all on the mend! One is still a little raspy/ wheezy but is improving also. This week they are all getting their second deworming. We have also taken in another batch of kittens with their mama and aunt (this on top of the cats already in our system) so we have a lot of mouths to feed and a lot of litter to buy. They will all need vet visits, vaccines, deworming and spaying etc., etc. As you can imagine the vet bills as well as the food and litter bills are mounting. So starting in the next week or so we will be hosting a raffle fundraiser to help us raise some much needed funds so we can keep doing what we are doing. We hope you will help us help these kittens and cats by participating in our raffle and have some fun in the process. Stay tuned!
Declan Update! How is Declan doing? Judge for yourself by the video! Here he is having a ball. He is eating well, playing, happy and best of all, now having regular bowel movements! Really this is a little miracle kitty! We are not out of the woods yet but are drawing ever closer to the edge of the woods. Thank you to everyone who has supported and still is supporting him in his journey to health. <3
HAPPY EASTER from Pepper and Cheddar adopted from us 5 years ago.
UPDATE on Miss Kitty and Violet, two senior foster kitties we are helping. Miss Kitty had her thyroid level checked yesterday and is doing well. Violet ate a tiny bit on her own over night--that is a great achievement for a cat with liver problems due to starvation as a result of abandonment. We are raising fund for her and Miss Kitty as our vet bills for these two were unexpected and quite high and they will need further testing and vet care. If you can donate to us please do so. You can e-transfer to [email protected] No amount is too small. Our fundraising abilities have been seriously hampered due to covid. We no longer can do our events in the Fairview Mall and have to resort to on line auctions and yard sales only. So, please, if you can help us, kindly do so. Thank you!! The video is of Violet this morning with her foster mama.
This is something you have got to hear: Chewbacca's purr motor!!! Chewbacca was previously called Beary--you will recall him, the beat up cat with bite marks over his entire body who, not surprisingly, tested positive for FIV. And you will recall his foster mama adopted him. Is he happy? Judge for yourself!! :-)
