Alphabet Soup Litter
Sometimes our puppies dont show their REAL selves til you see them in their HAPPY PLACE!!
This is true with our ALPHABET SOUP LITTER. They can be timid and quiet in new (indoor) environments. But.....put them outside and in their foster home - this is what happens!!!
If you are looking for a fun-loving, busy and super loving adventure partner....this might be the litter for you!!
<3 Mark your Calendars!!! <3
Nine dogs/puppies found their forever home yesterday at our OPEN HOUSE - and we have so many more puppies still waiting for their chance! Soooo..... we will be doing it again this Saturday Dec 16th from 10:00 am-2:00 p.m.!
During this week, we will be posting some sneak peeks at who will be there!!! So stay tuned!
All these puppies in the video are waiting for their forever homes....These puppies plus more will be available next Saturday (if not scooped up before!)
DETAILS on our next OPEN HOUSE........
WHERE WILL WE BE:
It will be located at: 4217 Glanford Avenue, from 10am - 2pm.
WHO WILL BE THERE?!
We will have PUPPIES, and AMAZING ADULT DOGS (hopefully) , that are all looking for THEIR FOREVER homes.
If you are wanting to adopt but aren't sure what you are looking for, come meet some of our WONDERFUL & AMAZING dogs!!
Only approved adopters will actually be able to adopt but everyone can come for some snuggles and talk to our volunteers and adoption counsellors.
WHICH PUPPIES/DOGS WILL BE THERE??
We don’t know EXACTLY who will be there as it will depend on the foster's availability, what puppies are left from which litters, and how many volunteers we can get at short notice.....but we have so many WONDERFUL dogs in care so there is guaranteed to be cuddles available.
Please SPREAD THE WORD!!! As Adoption Rates are down everywhere, and we have a waiting list of dogs and puppies to come in.
We know there are amazing homes out there. We just have to find them.
We will also be accepting our 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS Wish List Gifts for our animals at this OPEN HOUSE! We appreciate your generosity towards our animals!!
Hope to see you this Saturday!!!
It’s a great time to get a new best friend.

<3 Scratch and Sniff <3
These two puppies are each looking for their own homes and we cannot figure out why they haven't had a lot of applications...at 5 months they are almost passed the crazy puppy stage and they love to learn as you can see here! If interested their write up is below:
Everyone say hello to these adorable 5 months old mixed breed girls. They are both a little timid at first, but warm up very quickly. They have been around other dogs and some children and seem to do fine with both. Not sure about cats. They are mostly crated trained now, very quiet overnight and still working on spending a little time in the crate during the day. They are quiet and respectful, but still puppies that need ongoing training and supervision. They are working on their leash skills. They will both need clam, gentle, and patient humans to help them navigate becoming a member of the family, plus provide basic training. They are doing great with housetraining! Since they have been together for so long, you might give them some extra attention while they adjust. They need ongoing positive reinforcement training. Both these girls will make fabulous family members, but will need new families with lots of time and patience to help us adjust! We think they will both be medium-large dogs, but no guarantees!
If interested in meeting either of these girls, please fill out an application at https://victoriahumanesociety.com/animals/scratch-and-sniff/
The October litter is waiting to meet you at PetSmart DUNCAN from 11-2 today!!!
Any obedience fans, dog game players, nose works people out there???
Sage is looking for a new home. This 8 month old 40 pound female is as sweet and calm as can be, great with other dogs, perfect in the car, on leash, and in the house, and loves her people. She is very very smart, and quick at learning everything. She learned how to use buttons to talk in a day, figured out tricks for treats, and is always looking for ways to please you. Sage is very timid of new people though so will need lots of work and patience with that. She is not good with kids as they are too quick and unpredictable to her. She is good with cats, farm animals, and really loves other dogs. Another dog in the house (or 6) would give her confidence and help her learn new people aren't so scary.

Max 2.0 is back and looking for his real home. He was too much energy for his retired adopter. Max really wants a young person or couple that can do fun adventures, cool training, and spend lots of time with him. He is already learning how to talk to his foster with buttons! Max2.0 is a mixed mutt with probably some Rottweiler and Shepherd? He will be a large dog with loads of energy and smarter than everybody. If you are interested in Max2.0 please fill out an application at www.victoriahumanesociety.com
<3 Boots Take Two <3
Boots has found her forever home. We are so happy there are still people in this world who are willing to take on the "projects", the ones "needing work", the ones who don't "look perfect", and the ones who are "down on their luck". We thank all those people who will take on our tougher dogs. You are the ones that keep the volunteers going. So many people these days expect perfect and easy, but its heart warming to know there are still those angels out there. <3
See her post below but check out how badly she is done being a Mom!
Please share and let's find her a new home....
Boots deserves a fabulous life of her own! This poor German Shepherd has been pumping out puppies for six years. Her, and 2 other dogs were surrendered when the breeder left them behind. All the puppies throughout the years must have made good money, but now the mamas are left to fend for themselves.
Boots has 9 puppies that came with her. They are ready to be weaned, and Boots CAN'T WAIT!!!. We think there must be someone out there willing to give this shepherd a chance. She hasn't experienced much in life except feeding puppies, but she is willing to learn. She seems good with other polite dogs but will need patience and space as she gets over her Mama Mode. She walks well on leash, but again is a bit overwhelmed by everything new. She loves her people, but is distrustful of strangers so a dog savvy home to teach her some skills would be awesome. Boots won't be fixed for at least a month, so a foster-to-adopt home would be ideal. She will get fixed in Victoria so her adopter will need to be able to get her to her appointment.
Boots and all the other breeder dogs like her need your help. If you have a spot in your home for her please apply today. If you can share her story to help find her a home that would be great.
And please, if you are buying a dog.....please... find out what happens to the mamas when they are no good for breeding anymore. Thei
❤ Missy ❤
Seven year old Missy has retired from pulling sleds and has moved into domestic dog life. Along the way, she is leaving some pretty big paw prints. Here are a few comments from her foster family:
“Missy adores my cat and constantly checks him out to see what he's up to and enjoys the company of other dogs, big and small. She is even enjoying the foster puppies! She enjoys trotting around outside and when indoors her spot is on the couch. She even likes her food dish there lol. She's nervous but bonds to her person (mainly me and then my husband). She loves pets and kisses once she's settled in. The vet was really impressed with her demeanor. She's an incredibly sweet dog. Honestly once she found she is safe in a house and bonds with her person she is your best friend and very low impact. Easiest out of all my dogs and fosters now and previous.” Coming from a very busy foster home that says a lot!
Missy would do best in a home with other animals, a fenced yard and a family who is willing to give her that little bit of patience and understanding. If you can offer Missy the amazing home she deserves please complete an application for her here https://www.victoriahumanesociety.com/animals/missy/
Sad that I have to update this cute post but there have been some accusations and nasty comments about the puppies being under a shed … they have an entire 2 bedroom air conditioned suite that they live in … they just like to go play under the workshop … C’mon people ……
The Grey’s Anatomy Litter think their stroll for a treat is better than any Oscar Red Carpet !
They are 8 weeks old tomorrow and ready for their new homes !
If interested in one of our litters of puppies available, head over to our web page at www.victoriahumanesociety.com!
Have a great night !
