It takes a village!

Thank you to so many people this weekend for the hard work it takes to get 10 horses ready for a show. From our outstanding trainer, Pedro Cantaro and his devoted wife Isabel, Kelly Powers, rider extraordinaire who has become a valued part of the RSTD team, Tia, Maria and Landon who, without their help, our world would certainly come crumbling down. Thank you to Rob and Jan who are always there to help whenever, however they can.
And to Sue …. we thank you for everything you do.

Thanks Kique, for riding our Bozal gelding today, we appreciate your coming to our rescue so very much.

We are so very proud of this boy, RSTD Sucesor who at 17 years old won Champion of Champions AOTR Performance Horse with Kelly Powers AND Champion of Champions Luxury Gelding with Dianna Whisenant at the 2024 Lone Star Heart of Texas Show.

Thank you Dianna and Kelly (and Reba and Pam) for all the TLC you provide him (and cookies), he deserves every moment of it.

Being a responsible horse owner means never leaving halters on horses when unattended.

Having lost a horse this way once, it is our policy to always remove halters when turned out or when stalled. No one ever wants to see this.

PSA: No halters on horses during turnout, in their stall, and ideally not unless you are leading them. Can't catch your horse? You've got some training to do ...

Cheers to the Mares 🥂

Mares aren’t always well liked, and for the same reasons strong women aren’t.

Opinionated? Those opinions are not without good cause, and maybe you can't figure them out, or maybe you just don’t like her opinion of you. Change it, and she will always be on your side.

Stubborn? She just won’t let you bulldoze her. Treat her with respect, and her resilience will be an asset to you.

Difficult? You just can’t handle her. You don’t have what it takes.

Stick with geldings then, and leave the mare for someone who understands her and appreciates the same qualities society has subtlety taught you not to like.

Here’s to mares, to strong women, and to those who CAN and DO appreciate them!
