Teaching handling class is a lot of fun with the girls. The little monsters are starting to become supple in my hands and building drive to work not just by on a high 24/7. Then they become dogs that are pleasant to live with but still show their socks off in the ring. Leash training your puppy. Step one is to teach them to move off of the pressure of the leash and follow the direction of your hands. When I first teach this lesson I do use only a few treats. I use treats in lure work and food control. As in teaching them to take food nicely not bite your hand off and get over excited. I'm teaching him to turn properly as well not just walk a straight line. I train him for about 10 min at a time so he's not exhausted. I want to create a positive drive to work and not totally exhaust him. Do not start training if your puppy is too tired or too hyper.
