Thoughts on this and how to get to the point of paid content? Where else should I explore with my dog and kid?
What kind of posts would you like to see?

I make a point to do all the dog events in southwestern Ontario. Or at least try to learn about them and do them once to share my experience about it.

I don’t get paid for it and I don’t have a lot of followers but I do it anyway. Because it’s a good conversation starter and a good way to peak clients interests. Plus it’s fun and a good experience for my dog.

This year I have signed my pup and I up for and hope to share about that. Does anyone else do something similar and do you get paid for doing or sharing about the event? I love community building and I would love to build this up as part of my job.

Some other places or things I’ve done:of.erie.winery is a dog friendly winery and so events through the summer
I’ve been to a handful of camps as most of them are dog friendly
I’ve been to most of the dog friendly beaches off the Great Lakes

I also have gone cave exploring, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, camping and running with my dog
And I’m sure I’ve done more but can’t think of much at the moment.

I want to build my business on experiences and share them with clients to encourage them to attend or do these things with their dogs. But I also need more paid content eventually as a solo parent I can’t do everything for free (or at least try not to).
Thanks!

Happy to all my pet care professional fam out there! You are doing amazing things and deserve all the praise you can get. This is no easy job (despite what some people might think) and you deserve all the love not just this week, but always!
Love your fam! 💚🐾

With the holidays approaching I want to address a few things:

First: thank you to everyone who has or is supporting me through this journey as a business owner and solo parent. You all have been so amazing and understanding. My anxiety gets the best of me some days and paired with my adhd I get pretty behind on emails, messages or get overwhelmed at the idea of trying to stay on top of things. Thank you for your patience, love and support.

Second: Christmas days off; not only will my daughter’s daycare be closed some days, we also will be with family at times as well. I will not be taking walks, checking emails or doing any business related things on the following dates;
December 24-26
December 30/January 1

Third: speaking of days off; I will be sitting down during the holidays and mapping out days off through the year the best I can. I will be taking 1 scheduled day off once a month going forward, booking a week off in the summer and planning out holidays and important dates the best I can. Sick days and daycare closures are things I will not know of course and will adjust as needed.

Fourth: If I stay this busy into the spring, my goal is to continue working mornings and hiring for the afternoons. I’d like to hire someone to help build a community walk in Wortley and take over for the days I have off as well. The trouble with this is, it’s busy now but usually come summer my schedule cuts in half and I hope this doesn’t happen in 2025. I’m hoping by hiring, it’ll also alleviate my anxiety and help not be so overwhelmed at times. I’ll have the time to manage emails and scheduling much better in this case.

Fifth (and lastly): I will no longer be taking specific time requests in 2025. It is becoming to hectic to try to adhere to time frames when some dogs needs are vastly different than others. I will be working with time blocks going forward. This will look like 9-11am / 11-1pm / 1-3pm with last walks finishing up closer to 4pm. Groups or paired up dogs are encouraged where possible to help all dogs get their needs met. Dogs that cannot be paired will also be taken on but may have limited spots until I can hire.

Thank you so much for a successful 2024!

My daughter is sick at home. It doesn’t seem like it’s letting up anytime soon. Being self employed is amazing most days but this means I’m not getting paid days off. I’ll be posting in my stories the dog collars and second hand items I have up for grabs. Please, if you need anything, let me know.
Second hand items are negotiable on price.
Collars range from $20-60 based on size.
Pick up just north of Wortley Village.
I can take cash, debit or credit in person or can send a square invoice for items to pay online as well.
I may even post other various items for sale just to keep on top of things.
I hate to look desperate or feel like I’m pushing sales but with the holidays around the corner, losing work isn’t ideal. But of course my daughter comes first and her health and safety is more important than anything else.

This is a reminder that with the snow, comes the salt on the roads and side walks. Please remember to use paw balm, boots or other protection for your pets paws so they don’t get wounds from the salt. For dogs with little to no fur - coats, sweaters, hats, etc are great for keeping your pets warm. It may not be too snowy yet but it’s good training to get them used to those things early on. It’s easier to treat and train now than it would be in a snowy blizzard. A happy pet is a happy home. 💚 boots are what Ogi is wearing!
