Interesting post from WKC about Tollers.
They got most things correct but typically this is not a love everyone they meet breed. They are a little more reserved with strangers but do love those people they know well.

Someone grew up and had some beautiful, talented pups.
Smooch has earned the Canadian Toller club ROM, Register Of Merit!!

The Register of Merit (ROM) and Register of Merit Excellent (ROMX) Awards have been established to recognize a sire or dam’s outstanding contribution to the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever breed in Canada through the accomplishments of their offspring.

Thank you to our amazing puppy owners that have honoured her by titling in conformation, field, obedience, rally . Smooch's youngest just turned 1 and the oldest are just 3 1/2.

We are, of course, very grateful to the 2 handsome, talented sires, Percy and Tatum, for their valuable contributions.

The Rainkist crew had a successful weekend at our final hunt test of the year.

Kraken, Rainkist Get Kraken RN WC earned his Junior Hunter title on Saturday with owner, Anne Calvert. Kraken is from our first Tatum x Smooch litter.

Rocket, GCh Rainkist Bottle Rocket Rebel RN, CD, WC, CGN, earned 2 Junior passes with owner David Aberdeen.
Rocket is co owned with us, bred by Oryxes Tollers.

Tilly earned a Master pass on Saturday in a challenging test.
Sunday she had a beautiful land series but the water marks claimed us, as she missed one of the marks and we couldn't recover.

Very proud of all 3 dogs and handlers and looking forward to 2025.

Thank you UIRC, volunteers and landowners for a great hunt test weekend on beautiful Swampdog Farm.

I am very honoured to have a full set of the Alison Strang Versatilty Challenge Award. Even better is the fact that it's 3 generations of my dogs.

Alison was my first mentor when I started in the breed. She taught me and others how to evaluate puppies, and evaluate adult dogs for breeding. We sat together at many dog shows, seminars discussing breed type and the standard.

She also was a training partner in the field. She felt strongly of the versatile Toller, especially in both conformation and field.

It's been a part of my breeding program from the beginning to prove the versatility of my own dogs in every generation.

I think we've been successful and that Alison would be very proud!

And even though Tilly, GCH Rainkist Girl On A Mission CGN, RI, RM, CDX, SH, WCX, Am WCX, was home post surgery, she was the winner of the 2024 Gold Alison Strang Award. What makes this extra special is Grandsire C**t won Silver in 2022 and her Dam Smooch won the Bronze in 2022.
So we have 3 Generations of Alison Strang Award winners and one of each. We had to bring home the gold this time!!

This is a versatility award, in which you must obtain titles over the 2 year period before a specialty year and acrue the most points, dogs must be Champions or have a field title.

Second day of the NSDTRCC Specialty weekend, started super busy, chairing the obedience trial.
In the afternoon I was thrilled to be awarded Best In Breeder's Sweeps with Trevor, AKC Ch Rainkist's Born A Wicked Crime JH WCI, Can WCI amongst many respected peers.
Trevor was also RWM in the Pacific Kennel Club show.
Ended the day playing Rally Team with C**t. Now to sleep, get up do it again.
