Respecting Your Cat's "No Thank You's"
Your reminder to listen to your cat's no's, and how to see more yes's during their daily care and training.
Respect is key to making things that aren't so fun more enjoyable for you and your cat!
Compassionately Complimenting Fosters
This is a little different from my regular behaviour and training content, but it is still important to protecting cats and their caregivers/advocates.
Training takes patience. It takes small steps, reevaluation, and sometimes taking steps backward.
But every single one of those is a powerful tool for having the most success and the most fun!

We get the most out of our consultations when we approach your cats with understanding and compassion, rather than looking at them as a nuisance or problem.
I don't fix your cat, I teach you to appreciate every piece of them while also helping you show them how you'd prefer they use all of their brilliant energy. 💞🐈
Playtime is for your cat.
If you're not motivated to have a play session because you find it boring or tedious, find ways to make it fun for everyone. Listen to a podcast or audio book, turn on some music, or even put on a passive TV show.
Play supports happy and healthy cats, so do it for them. ❤️
Success Story Time! - This is why training matters.
During a house showing, Cosmo, his kitty siblings, and their human were waiting in the car. Cosmo managed to chew a hole in his carrier, and the second his mom opened the car door, he bolted! Thankfully, they'd been working on the "Touch" command. Without missing a beat, his mom called, "Cosmo, touch!" and he came running right back.
In her words: "Training touch saved his life."
Training isn't just enrichment; it builds trust, strengthens your bond, and can be a lifesaver in everyday situations and emergencies.
*Video: Cosmo runs to his mom all the way from upstairs after hearing her ask for "Touch."
*Photo: His sister, Moira, looking very disappointed in Cosmo's carrier destruction.
It's that time of year again!
Did you know a cat's preferred environment temperature is 25 to 30 degrees Celsius? (77 to 86 F)
Heated spots give your kitties a comfortable way to stay in that toasty temperature range, especially during cold months. 🥶
Warm and cozy zones help reduce stress and promote relaxation. 😌
Heated spots also relieve joint stiffness in our older kitties. 🐈
And to keep everyone safe, always have a blanket, bed, or sheet between your cat and the heating pad, have your heating pad on a timer, and only leave it on when you're home. ⚠️
Pay attention to unkind trends and other videos that don't show cats respect and compassion.
Don't interact with these videos, don't support accounts who create these videos, and share awareness your own way.
Let's be better for cats, together. 💞
Halloween is tomorrow!! So what's the scoop on cats and costumes?...
There's a delicate balance between our own busy human lives and providing the best care for our cats, and I think we need to have a little more self-compassion when addressing superb cat care.
Look at this amazing moment of communication that led to good choices and a peaceful outcome. I'm so proud!! 💕
