This group truly reminded me why I love what I do. They proved that work and play are not mutually exclusive, working their hardest to achieve their goals, while not passing up any opportunity for a laugh or to support each other! I am beyond glad that I got to spend time with such amazing people and dogs!

Puppies make every day better! This group (including Hank, who we missed the last class), was an absolute blast with some high octane friends! Being able to witness the relationship and skill development is beyond amazing. I can't wait to see what's next for these pups and their human sidekicks! You guys are awesome, and I'm so proud of the effort you put in!

Charlie and Bobby are here to remind you to never give up on your goals!

These handsome guys have been working hard with the absolute dedication of their humans to help them learn new life skills and change associations that are not working for them. Supporting a dog with big feelings is hard, progress is not linear, and I am so so proud of these families for standing with their best friends every step of the way.

Both the Adolescent Life Skills, and Obedience Level 1 groups completed their courses last week. Here are a few of their wonderful faces! I am so, so lucky to get to collaberate with the people and dogs that I do every day. These groups absolutely inspired me by the dedication they showed to building their relationships with their dogs as they learned new skills together. 🥰

I can't believe it, but here we are...the preliminary course calendar for 2025. 🫣

Scent, Active Enrichment, and Trick courses will be added next in a preemptive push back against winter blahs.

There is one space left in the L1 Obedience course beginning November 25 at 6:30PM

I will also be hosting a Puppy Paint Night Fundraiser with all proceeds going to support our friends

What better way to celebrate a sunny Friday than with some masterpieces and their creators?! I love all things enrichment, and every moment I got to spend with this fabulous group for our Active Enrichment course was incredible. I hope they remember me when they're famous. 🥰😉

These incredible pups and their human sidekicks (including Jemi, who wasn't able to attend graduation night, but watching her progress was nothing short of amazing!) were an absolute inspiration to work with! They represented an incredible mix of personalities and building towards different goals, but the unwavering dedication and determination of their guardians was truly awesome. I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to spend that time with you all! Bonus thank you to Floki for the giggle as he channelled his inner pancake after working so hard! 🥰

This fall I will be reducing the number of group classes running at a time as I attempt to figure out the illusive work/life balance. Racing around like a squirrel is proving not to be a sustainable approach to life... 😂

Having big feelings is hard on both ends of the leash! Pig, Sabian, Ash, and honourable mention to Charlie (who was unable to join us for certificate night, but deserves recognition!), and their absolutely incredible guardians put everything into learning how to support each other during their Remedial Socialization course. Working with reactive dogs shouldn't look like working with reactive dogs, and seeing everyone happy, and relaxed in the same space is beyond inspiring. 💕

I am often in the position of supporting people through the decision of euthanizing their companions. Today classes are cancelled as I follow my own advice and we give this one last act of love to a truly special horse.

While it can be hard to acknowledge that we may not be meeting the needs of the dogs in our care, to be successful we need to look at the cause not just the symptoms. This is how we facilitate and support lasting change, and why simply suppressing behavioural 'symptoms' doesn't work long term.
