It’s a mighty fine day for Rollie!
Although his neuter surgery at CPW might be considered a loss by some, it has made him an acceptable addition to the folks kind enough to bring him in to their home.
Rollie is a keeper!

It has been a number of hellish months with cat catastrophes.
Jess had a dental that required the extraction of his upper canines and some molars. His blood work was good, but he needed loving encouragement and monitoring to ensure he was eating well. In the meantime other high maintenance care issues arose with other cats. I needed someone that could focus on Jess’s care. I was thrilled when a volunteer Jess was fond of agreed to look after him and his needs for 2 to 3 weeks.
Apparently Jess presented an irresistible hard sell. In a mere 24 hours his temp caregivers have requested that he become a permanent family member..
Big smile!
Couldn’t be happier for him.

The majority of cats need cat company, they just need the right cat for company.
There is great structure to cat culture. Being aware of who works in your urban home colony makes all the difference between harmony and hell.

Today is GivingTuesday, the world’s largest generosity movement. Everyone has something to give and every act of generosity makes a difference.

Humphrey

A FRFA volunteer noticed cat footprints in the snow near her house on one of last winter’s coldest days. After seeing the footprints again, she arranged to have the cat trapped. Jim Forty (named for the ‐40C wind chill) was neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. He was placed in a foster home, but soon became a member of the family. A very fortunate ending for a deserving young cat.

Jim Forty's story represents many cats we've been able to help because of your donations. This time of year is especially hard with the bitter cold temperatures and no food or shelter for cats who find themselves outdoors. Everyone's contributions are meaningful to the cats:

• Volunteers - keep the shelter clean and the organization purring
• Fosters - make room for another cat to be helped
• Adopters - receive adoration and love for a lifetime
• Donors - keep the the cats safe and well cared for

Head to our website to complete a volunteer form, an adopt / foster form, or make a tax-deductible donation.

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday and it truly takes a village to give the FRFA cats the best life possible, even if a second or third chance. Adopters, volunteers, fosters, vets, and donors all come together to help.

Clove and Opal are two such cats that without your donations would not be here.

These days we are dealing with more and more heartbreaking situations. The continuing, heartless dump of pets acquired during Covid has overwhelmed and consumed all the resources of each and every rescue organization. The current increase in rental costs and landlords unwilling to accept pets is resulting in more homeless animals.

FRFA was approached by James, who had been seeking help from other rescues for over a month. He had only two days left before he was being evicted. His options at that time were to either abandon or euthanize his two companions. There were very few options available for Clove, a fourteen‐year‐old black male, and Opal, a seven‐year‐old, shy, un‐spayed female. FRFA is grateful to have found someone willing to foster these two little unfortunates.

Please include FRFA in your giving donations tomorrow and holiday season support efforts to give cats a chance at finding their purrfect furever home.
