Just one more reminder that our daughter Jaling is moving back here from Calgary on August 1. Starting August 2 she will be available for regular overnight boarding seven days per week. This will take place here on our property, an environment your dog is well familiar with.

Free plums! Just bring a shopping bag this afternoon or tomorrow. Plums will be in the big wheelbarrow right by the front gate. Please keep plywood over plums when finished loading up. Any that look green, just put them on your kitchen table in full sunlight and they should ripen up quickly. Plums stored in your fridge should last around 10 days. Enjoy!

Beautiful sunny wild Wednesday in the main pen area!

Just want to reassure everyone who is new to our doggy daycare service concerning the heat. Believe it or not we’ve never had an issue with hot dogs. You may find this hard to believe but some dogs don’t even use the sprinkler or big water bins that we set up. They just seem to know when to slow down regardless of age or breed. That said, of course we will be keeping a close eye on things.

Anyone need overnight boarding from Thursday till Tuesday morning or afternoon? We can help! Just bring enough food and send a quick email to let us know when you want to pick up.

Thanks,

Ben

Know that there was a minor communication mixup here. A personalized email was sent to all clients with their name on top. It was meant to be generic to all clients. Don’t be alarmed if you figured it was directly aimed at you.

Thanks!

Ben

Thank you Jackie for your feedback about clients coming at 7 AM. We can test drive a new system. Anyone arriving before we open at 7:15 AM can pop their dog on a rope and put them through the gate. Just be absolutely sure you know how the gate operates. If you touch the pole going into the pavement, both gates will swing wide open. Also you need to be really careful that no other dog is close if you’re putting your dog through the gate. Please don’t do this before 7 AM. That’s when staff arrive and it’s important somebody is on site before any dogs come through the gate. Not sure if the new system will work so stay tuned.

Thanks!

Just a couple of reminders. We open at 7:15 AM and close at 6 PM. It’s come to my attention that some of you are really pushing the envelope towards 7 AM. Megan is accommodating you to be nice but it’s certainly not ideal when she is just getting here herself at 7 AM.

We do make the odd exception for clients to come early for pick up. If we have a really busy day, we will get the phone if it rings around 3.50 PM just to speed things up. That said, we would rather everyone stays consistent with picking up between 4 to 6 PM.

Next reminder is about coming a minimum of four visits per month after the first three months are completed. That is our minimum requirement unless a dog is sick or injured or you’re on vacation. We ask that clients notify us if for any reason the consistency of four visits per month will be disrupted.

On a positive note, I’m not sure if you’re aware that we now offer overnight boarding. This all depends on availability of staff working here but we can often make it work. We are also able to provide pet sitting in your home. Jacqueline who works here and our daughter Jaling both have plenty of experience in that department.

Thanks for your continued support and understanding,

Ben and team.

So I have about 20 pounds of free dog food if you want it. It’s a shotgun mix of all the unconsumed food here. It’s kept in an airtight container so no problem with it staying fresh. The majority of our clients are using high-quality dog food but I can’t tell you definitively what brands.
Send me a quick email if you’re interested.

Jacqueline also known as Jax has been helping out the past few weeks. Some of you may have already met her. Just a heads up that she will be helping out more with our business.

Just a really important reminder to keep space between dogs at our front gate. Picture the length of my van times two or three. We have more than one dog that is definitely aggressive with their owner but not with us.

I really believe businesses don’t improve without constructive critique. If you see anything that we can improve on, especially when dropping off and picking up, I would really value your feedback. I’m happy to keep that feedback confidential if that’s what you prefer. Email would be best in that case, [email protected].

I would really value any feedback you can provide on our new payment system. Things you like about it and what you would like to see changed. Was it hard for you to switch from the old system? Even a few words would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
