A little throw back to Strider at 10 weeks playing with a chunk of ice ❤️
Zoey was quite fascinated by Lyra’s bubble blowing trick! 🤿
Summer Scavenger Hunt #18 - Well Bred (represent your breed or mix)
Strider here is demonstrating a lovely point…what is he pointing at? A butterfly 🦋😂
Give a shout out to your dog’s breed or mix or origin if you want to play along 🙂
A big congratulations to Bridget and her handsome boy Finn for completing the Summer Scavenger Hunt!! ☀️🔎🐶
She has done such amazing work with this dog and he also just earned his Intermediate Trick Dog Title! Great job Bridget & Finn 👏
Apparently Boo had the best stick that day!
Nothing like a rousing game of bitey face 😂
Summer Scavenger Hunt #5 - Balance Beam (walk something narrow)
Scout demonstrating her balance walking across the picnic table.
Strider opted out of this one since he’s a gangly teenager with no hind leg coordination. 😂
Post a pic of your acrobatic dogs if you want to join in!
Dexter the doodle in black and white showing off some nice moves here 😄
Happiness is…a good roll in the cool grass on a hot day!
Chase’s new favourite thing...playing in the tunnel with his friends!
It’s all fun and games until the pointers keep ruining your playtime 😂 one is the little pest and the other one is the fun police!
I started working on cooperative care with Strider as soon as I brought him home. He knows if he stays on the blanket I will trade him cookies for allowing me to groom him. It means I will never have to fight with him to trim his nails, clean his ears or brush his teeth; dogs can even learn to voluntarily take medication or receive injections using cooperative care. If he gets off the blanket then I stop, he has a choice, and giving him that choice means he feels safe and comfortable and will choose to play this game with me 🙂
There are 3 prerequisites to teaching cooperative care:
1. The Game of Choice using a bowl, so the dog doesn’t just dive in to eat the cookies out of the bowl
2. Value for the blanket
3. The Touch=Cookie game, so they understand the sequence
Then it’s just a matter of introducing each grooming or medical procedure to the sequence.
Big sister Scout supervising the puppies to make sure they play nice 😂👮🏻♀️
Always good to enlist some help with the all important spring tree trimming 😂
