The Forever Dog Life, which includes my honest thoughts on the book. I also priced out a shopping list for one of the recipes, and I suddenly had an epiphany. If I were to follow this book exclusively to feed my dogs, there is no way I could afford it because a single recipe yields about six pounds of food; my dogs eat approximately 4.5 pounds of food daily (combined).

I understand that the book wasn't written for us to follow exclusively. Like cookbooks for humans, we reach for them on special occasions or to try something new.

But that's not all.

The Forever Dog Life recipes include ingredients on my grocery shopping list, which made me realize that as I shop for myself, I would include my dogs—we'll share ingredients. Plus, many ingredients will cover multiple meals. Parents don't shop for themselves, then go back for their children—at least, I don't think they do.

I don't plan to change how I feed my dogs, but I'm thankful to have a copy of this book for new ideas.

I'd love your thoughts now that the book has been available for a few weeks.
