We had a great time last weekend at the in Okotoks!

Highlight of the weekend for us was Binx (Kramer X Viva) bring awarded Best in Show Specialty at the German Shorthair Pointer Club of Canada Regional Specialty! Judge Sandra Patterson of Australia.
Rev (Radar X Viva) was also awarded an Award of Merit. Viva, not to be outdone by her kids, was Best Veteran in Sweepstakes.

Binx and Rev also were Best in breed each once in the all breed show, with Rev receiving a group 4 under Judge Trevor Hiscock and Binx making the cut in under Judge Sandra Patterson.

Little Peanut had her first time out as a Veteran, showing in Veteran group almost every day.

Baby Jinx got to be featured on my grooming business cards🥰

Regular grooming is good for GSP's too! All of my pups get at least one bath a month to maintain optimal skin health and decrease shedding.

Everyone sucks up weekly nail trims as well🤭

Jinx🍀 Localuna's Just My Luck (Trooper X Rev) went to her first show this weekend! She's learning the ropes of being a good girl! She was super wiggly for the judge but we got a best baby puppy in sporting group on her second day of showing 💕

Mary update : Vet just called and gave her the all clear to come home. Pick up time is set for1030 am. She is up and moving a bit more comfortably. Will post pictures of her once we get her home and more info on her recovery process. Big advantages for her is the fact that she is extremely fit and healthy going into this. Vet conplimented how muscular her rear was yesterday😅 I'm hoping the surgery bill is at the lower end and I will only owe my mom 2500 to 3000 on her card 🙈😬 it's a big thank you to everyone who has donated, I have cried many times in the past few days just overwhelmed from the support and kindness of our canine family

It’s often assumed that to socialize your puppy means that they must interact with a variety of people and other dogs. Unfortunately, the wrong experience can greatly shape how your dog handles these interactions in the future. Instead, proper socialization should consist of exposure to many different sounds, sights, places, things, people and animals with an emphasis put on your puppy’s ability to relax around these stimuli. The act of actually interacting with people or other dogs should be reserved for those who you know will handle your puppy correctly.

We spent last weekend at the Alberta Kennel Club Show!

Peanut finished her Champion at the Westwinds Sporting Specialty going best of Winners!

Pending CKC CH Tollwest P'nutbutter Jellytime RN CGN NS

Mary - Localuna's I Smell Children CA (Kramer X Viva) was Winners female for both shows Friday and Reserve on Sunday. She is halfway to her Champion with 5 points

Winni - BPISS Localuna's I Put a Spell on You (Kramer X Viva) was Winners female for Westwinds and both shows on Sunday, she also was Best of Winners for one show Sunday. She earned herself 7 points towards her Ch with her friend Katie. She also played in JR handling with her boy William getting 3rd in their class!

Rev - Can Multi group placing NBOSS BPIG MBBPIG GCH Localuna's Viva La Revolution NS CGN CA FDJ (Radar X Viva) was select at Westwinds, select for 2 shows and Best of opposite for 1 show over the weekend. She also was Best female in breeder Sweeps.

Viva - Can Multi group placing BOSS GCH Shotshell Viva La Vida RN CGN NTD (Trump X Ulla) had a fun weekend playing. She was supposed to play in Jr handling but unfortunately came into season early. She came home with some select ribbons and Best of opposite for one show playing with her friend Leslie.

Binx - Localuna's Dark Guardian CGN CA (Kramer X Viva) came to play at Westwind just for fun and experience. He enjoyed all the attention and got to play with Isabelle in Jr handling!

It wasn’t quite noon on the prairie and the light northwest breeze made the early season hunt seem almost cool. Usually on these early September prairie grouse hunts I would call it quits by noon, but after a rough summer at work and this being my first outing of the season, I decided Emma and I could make one more loop.
