Shadow is an absolute doll. Available for adoption at Kelowna Pet Smart. Shadow is friendly, playful, and has beautiful little round face and inquisitive eyes, with the cutest white tippy toes. She loves chin scratches and back rubs but is not a fan of being carried around. Shadow would do best in a patient home without other pets. Shadow is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Leo is the most handsome cat you’ll ever know. After being rescued from cold and months living on his own in an upper mission neighborhood, Leo was brought in to OHS for some much-needed time learning to trust and love humans again. He is now very affectionate and enjoys company of other cats and people. He is particularly fond of his kitten foster sister Bunny. He is still nervous and startles easily. He does give warning swats when he’s had enough petting so a busy home or children would not be a match for this handsome cat. ❤️ Lots of Found animals please share and help them get back home. Most were unfixed but have all been spayed or neutered now, vet checked, vaccinated, dewormed and chipped or tattooed. If unclaimed they will go up for adoption after about 1 week posted as Found.

FOUND IN CALGARY this week. CHIP info is out of date. This kitty possibly traces back to OHS/OKCC when owner lived in Rutland area of Kelowna. Implanted by Alpine Pet Hospital April 7, 2018.

This week, Okanagan Humane Society will be conducting a massive feral cat rescue in Cherryville.

We need your help getting these cats into care and fixed before the snow flies, and before more kittens are born in the cold. If you can help, we need volunteers and donations immediately.

We are looking for volunteers to help with the following:

-Transport the feral cats to and from veterinary clinics in Vernon;
-Farm homes with warm closed rooms in barns for 2-3 rescued fixed cats to live out their lives;
-Donations for vet costs.

OHS estimates the cost of this rescue will be more than $6,000 as all of the 20+ feral cats will need to be spay/neutered, vaccinated and treated by veterinarians. These 20+ feral cats and older kittens will not be adoptable, but rather, needing farm homes to live out their lives.

This mission work is carried out by OHS year-round all over the Okanagan Valley. It is key to stopping breeding and preventing cat overpopulation, suffering outside, attracting predators, and/or succumbing to disease and injuries.

Semi-tame and feral kitties looking for great farm homes and willing to work keeping rodents away, to earn their keep.

Contact OHS and submit your application below if you would like to be considered for 1-4 barn kitties. All are fixed, vaccinated, dewormed and chipped or tattooed. Most are under a year or two, with a few a bit older. All have the natural instinct to keep rodents away.

They must be kept inside to start, a tack-room or storage/feed room with a window and natural light would be ideal, while they acclimatize for the first month, before being allowed to roam the whole barn or property.

Apply here and we will be in touch by phone. A few photos of the main part of the barn or out-building will be required once you are contacted.
