🌟Meet Juliet🌟

She is a resident Gouldian Finch at a local Retirement Home that we pop in to a couple times a year to do health checks and nail trims.

Her nails definitely needed a trim today and it was observed that she's recovering from a tiny bout of bumblefoot. Overall Juliet is in great health and we look forward to visiting her again before the Winter holidays!

To Our Clients in the Niagara Falls, Ontario and surrounding area! Hawk and Vida (Canaries) are looking for a new place to call their FOREVER home! Please see message below from their Owner - Judith. K, who is looking for their perfect forever Nest.

"My little canaries Hawk (American Singing Canary, C**k) and Vida (Red Factor, Hen) are looking for a new home, ideally together, where they can continue to live "in the style to which they have become accustomed." I have large cages for each of them, and they have a free flight room at my place.

I rescued Hawk and Vida and several other canaries from a pet store that had to lock down and cease live animals sales during the pandemic. The birds were due to be euthanized because they could not be sold. They have been with me since then.

We estimate Vida to have been born in 2017 according to her leg band. She did have an accident where she broke a leg (Nov 2023) which healed perfectly under the care of our excellent avian vet in Guelph. She has been wonderfully healthy otherwise, having received regular wellness checks. In previous years, she has laid a copious number of eggs each season (before I knew what I was doing in terms of managing reproduction). She happily co-habitats with the two other canaries currently in the home any time of the year. This year, her egg production has been quite light and I continue to manage via the use of fake eggs for her best health.

We estimate Hawk to be approximately 4 years old -- he does not have a leg band -- he came into the store together with others born in 2019. Hawk has been a faithful mate to Vida, I believe she appreciates his company.

Hawk is an amazing singer! He will sing along with the other pets when they make a ruckus, as well as the hair dryer, the vacuum, outside lawn mowers - anything that makes a constant noise he's happy to accompany! He can get protective over Vida during breeding season (March-July-ish) so they are separated if he hustles her too much. Otherwise he happily cohabitates with her.

They have both undertaken successful yearly molts while with me; both are in very good health, good weight, eat well on a diet of pelleted food and healthy fresh fruit and veggies. Their flight cages measure 30" wide x 20" deep (they have one each) and can be supplied with them. A small re-homing fee will be requested.

We are in Niagara Falls, Canada and happy to bring them to their next home within a reasonable distance for auto travel. Preference given to current / previous canary owners."

Having Trouble this Breeding Season?

An essential tool for promoting successful breeding in birds. Avian Fertility Formula contains Vitamin E, which is known to increase testosterone. It also contains the two amino acids Carnitine and Arginine, which increase s***m production and motility. Avian Fertility Formula helps embryos grow, and aids the development of young chicks. It also encourages muscle growth.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Sprinkle the appropriate amount on your bird's food (vegetables or moist seed) every 8 to 12 hours:
- 1/8 teaspoon (.5g) for small birds (Finch, Budgie).
- 1/4 teaspoon (1g) for medium-sized birds (Grey, Amazon).
- 1/2 teaspoon (2g) for large birds (Macaw, C**katoo).

Avian Fertility Formula can be administered via drinking water, at a rate of 4 tsp. per gallon (or 5 ml per liter).

Dosing should begin 3-4 weeks before the breeding season starts and end shortly after the female has laid her first egg.

CALCIUM PLUS is a concentrated, pre-dissolved, highly bio-available form of calcium, vitamin D3, and magnesium formulated for maximum intestinal absorption. Calcium deficiency in birds can cause egg binding, feather plucking, splayed legs, nervousness, poor muscle control and other health problems.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Add four teaspoons of CALCIUM PLUS per quart (32 fluid oz., 4 cups or 0.95 Liter) of clean drinking water, or one teaspoon (5 ml) per 8 oz. cup (.23 Liter) of fruits, vegetables, soaked seed, or soft food, or administer directly to the bird at the rate of one drop per two ounces of (57 grams) body weight. It is with deep sadness that we consider the closing of our online shop March 6th, 2024. Due to various reasons outside of our control, we will be selling off all available inventory and remaining open only for networking purposes via Facebook. We Thank all of our Repeat and Loyal Customers for all the many years of support. All Things Feathered won’t be gone entirely but at this time, our store must close.
