I love partnering with the talented folk at JettaJacks!

Every time I send in a request they deliver - this time with an additional opening clip on the neck piece.

This makes it so much better for the dogs who are nervous of things going over their heads, for dogs with big heads and smaller necks, and also for the folks who may have a bit of arthritis where fussing with the tightness may be a challenge!

So excited to start carrying this ❤️

Toppl’s are fantastic to slow down fast eaters, a great alternative to chews for dogs with bad teeth, good for basic enrichment, de-stressing in class, for quiet time in crate or while watching tv, and more!

Unlike smaller items, toppl’s can hold enough for a meal. And best of all? They are dishwasher safe.

You can use raw or any soft filler, including softened kibble or wet food, or mix it in with sour cream etc.

Takes my fastest boy 6 minutes and my slowest about 20 min to munch his way through a meal. Which is way longer than a standard chew lasts.

We are thinking of putting in a custom order on harnesses next month. If you are interested, please email or message us so we can assess interest. This is not just for colours, but also for custom sizing!!

A few years ago we worked with Jetta Jacks on adding a front clip to their harnesses for our students. The design has been so successful, it’s been their default on every harness since! They have also improved their clips and fabric to lessen slippage.

They are the perfect harness that offers flexibility of both a front and back clip, as well as being in the “Y” shape recommended by vets and canine rehab professionals. It can be used in the front for pulling on leash, as well as on the back for long lines and biking.

Please note payment will need to be received before the order is placed, and as these will be special colours and sizes there will be no refunds.

We continue to carry all sizes in black, as standard!

These are absolutely fantastic stuffed with softened food or raw, frozen. They slow down dogs eating, provide enrichment, and are great for dogs who can’t chew due to teeth issues. Not to mention that are dishwasher safe and last a long time.

With temperatures set to soar this week, please keep your pets well being top of mind.

Dogs primary means of cooling is panting, which can result in rapid dehydration in hot weather. However, just like with people, there is a point when we cannot sweat (or in their case pant) their way to coolness, which can result in heat stroke and even death very quickly.

What can you do? Keep your dog out of the sun, provide lots of cool water, and keep activity to a minimum. I know how popular the “mandatory daily walk” is - but when temperatures are this high, it is a safety concern. If you absolutely must walk, try to keep it to morning or evening.

What about playing in a pool or playing with hoses? Fantastic choice! Just keep an rye on how much water they ingest. Doggs can accidentally ingest too much water (even fetching a ball in water) and go into water intoxication, which very few dogs can recover from.

Many of you have reached out for a Rumple cancer update - he is still cancer free after almost a year, and is living his best, saucy life!!! Every extra day is a blessing.

Again a huge thank you to everyone who participated in the auction, and I look forward to giving back to the community throughout the year!

A few pictures and videos in the comments. Yes, he can still smell and loves scent detection. Yes, he can breathe and run and swim. No, he is not in pain, and doesn’t even move his face when his brothers climb over him.

Part of our Food Reward Series - one of our favourite choices for thrown/tossed food rewards. We get this question a lot!

Not all treats are created equal, and some are better when thrown than others. Many of you might have felt the pain of watching your reward tumble under something and your dog become distracted trying to get at it. Or worse, as your dog watches it be eaten by another dog in class 😱!

Up your treat throwing game (and save your dog’s trust in your aim) by chosing the right size and shape. I find square works best, about 1/2 cm, with a little bounce to it.

There are many options including tuna fudge, but chicken rollover specifically cuts very well out straight out of the fridge and requires no baking! The small squares have a lovely bounce without going wild or careening across the floor. You can modify the size according to your dog. This 1/2 cm size works very well for rapid rates of reinforcement. Freezing allows you to cut it up all at once, extends the life of the product, and defrosts in about an hour (perfect for just before class!). And they work just as well delivered to the hand.

Always use common sense and follow the advice of your medical professionals in choosing food or treats for your specific dogs.
