Arnprior Home Pet Care Andrea McKay, trained vet assistant, provides petsitting and other services in the pets' own home. This is a wonderful bond that should be treasured.

Dear Client,
I wish to assure you that I will make every effort to care well for your pet and provide you with quality pet care and petsitting services. Pets provide us with non-judgemental, unconditional love in return for our care and affection. I respect the bond between clients and their pets, and feel the seriousness of the responsibility when the well-being of a pet is placed in my hands. I

have kept pets throughout my life, including dogs, cats, fish, and one turtle. I spent much of my childhood on my grandparents’ farm, where chickens were raised, horses boarded, and even some wildlife rehabilitated. I have always considered my pets a very important of my life, integral to my happiness and peace of mind. In 2015, I made a move from my previous career as a government consultant to become an animal care provider. The corporate work environment had lost any interest for me, and I sought a more nurturing and rewarding career in animal care. After graduating from the Veterinary Assistant course at Algonquin College, I obtained training from St. John’s Ambulance in Pet First Aid. I also travelled to Toronto to attend the Royal Canadian College of Massage Therapists and became a Certified Canine Massage Therapist. I have work experience in veterinary hospitals and animal boarding facilities. I believe I can offer a multi-faceted pet care and petsitting service package. I look forward to working with my clients, determining their specific service requirements, and caring for their dear pets, learning each animal’s needs and unique qualities. Sincerely,
Andrea McKay

Fireworks are dramatic, beautiful and associated with happiness and celebrations. There’s something about them that seems to speak to us on a deeper level and brings people together. But unfortunately,...

ALL PACKED AND READY TO...snooze. As we know, the 'smaller and safer' places Border collies will choose to retire to, to rest, can be many and various. And for Cheryl Parker's Sprite, from New Hampshire, USA, this suitcase is perfect. "I did set up a nice crate den in the bedroom for him," she says, "but he never used it. He much prefers this, and even likes the case lid to close on top of him!."

After the holidays, I could really use a weight loss program like Squishy's!

Great hints to help your cat adjust to a safe, full life indoors...

We are continuing to see too many deceased cats on the page either being hit by vehicles or killed by wildlife☹️ We understand that accidents happen and we are also aware that many cats are not happy being kept inside and can become very destructive and can even develop behavioural and physical difficulties. There is some good information here from the Ottawa Humane Society on how to transition an outdoor cat to become an indoor cat. Another good option for cats to spend some time outdoors is catios.
