I teach Archery lessons every Sunday after Isha at the Islamic Society of Niagara Peninsular. The lessons started couple of months ago and all this time I was using my equipment to teach. The Mosque board finally approved a budget for new equipment which was delivered earlier today. I am so happy as now 4 students can shoot and practice at the same time.

My first introduction to Nezabazi was in Grade 5. So I'd say when I was about 10 years old. Since the first time I ran a horse on the track and picked up the peg, there was no turning back. I got addicted. For over 30 years Ive stuck to this sport in one way or the other. From the grounds of my school, to the beaches of Denmark to my farm in Canada, Ive never let go of that Nezabaaz inside of me.
Although I never made it onto the Pakistan Team, but it wasnt less of an honour to be on the Canadian Team of which I am an active member currently.
The ITPF started the International TP day 3 years ago and 27th October was the date decided to celebrate this awesome sport.
This video done by a friend at Lahore Livestock Farms is a dedication to this great sport of warriors and my humble submission for the TP day competition.

PS: Landscaping the ground to form a 1100 feet track between 4 feet of wild grass wasnt anything easy. Took a few hours to do but the end result that I see in this video doesnt cease to amaze me. :)

A long awaited dream come true. A few lines about this wont do justice however starting from my first application to the Equestrian Federation of Pakistan to represent Pakistan, that was turned down to the second application that was turned down again, I was left with no choice hence the third application was put up to the Pakistan Sports Board, the governing body of all Sports Federations in Pakistan.

NoCs from 2 National Federations, 3 Federal Ministries, Clearances from 2 intelligence agencies and approval from the Ministry of IPC, I am proud to say that I shall have the honour of wearing the Pakistan Horseback Archery Blazer in the upcoming IHAA Mounted Archery World Championship in Mongolia in September 2023.

There are a handful of people I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart. Sajid Zafar bhai you have been an immense support from the day I spoke to you until today. You believed in me and made sure that Im on the right path to attaining the target. Sir Shahid of the Ministry of IPC and DDG at PSB who saw the passion I had for the sport and my willingness to do something big and my father Mubashar Javed whose constant support, love, and the last push got me to achieve a lifelong dream.

All praise to Allah, who has blessed me with so much that even a 'shukar' won't suffice.

I am also proud of the fact that Canadian Federation of Mounted Archery also owns me as an athlete and I have had the honour to be the only Canadian Archer present at the World Nomad Games 2022 in Turkey.

2 countries, 2 flags, 2 colours, 1 sport and me 🙂 Alhamdolillah.

30 DAYS IS NOT ENOUGH! 60 DAYS IS NOT ENOUGH! A well rounded, well trained horse takes years to develop and they are worth the investment. Good training isn't quick. Good trainers aren't cheap. When you take an un-started horse to a trainer, 30 days is not enough. The bare minimum should be 90 days. Longer is better. Yes, it costs money. Horses cost money and there is no way around it. Make sure you choose a trainer who is honest about this and isn't just trying to keep your horse longer for the money. Sit in on sessions once your horse is in training and ask questions. 30 days is not enough for the majority of horse owners to step in and continue with the success of the horse. You’re setting the horse up for failure. If you’ve taken the horse out of training too soon, not only will it affect the horse but you're also setting blame for the “bad trainer” that didn't get your horse broke and kid safe in 30 days.
In most cases, what your horse and trainer can do together after 30, 60 and 90 days are not what you and your horse can do together. This means you need to be engaged in the process with your horse, in lessons and seeking to learn yourself if you want to recreate the education your horse is receiving.
The expectation of a 90 day horse is that they now have a solid foundation of the BASICS. What those basics are will vary from horse to horse, age and trainer, but understand that you do not have a finished horse by any stretch of the imagination... and you don't usually have a beginner safe horse. Having the expectation that this is possible, is unfair to the horse. Remember, your horse won't necessarily retain ALL of what they have learned when they go back home unless you continue to work with your horse consistently and with a similar set of skills. Set realistic goals and put the time in that your horse needs and deserves, it's worth the investment!
