In the hush of dawn, too early to rise,
A weary soul with heavy eyes.
Longing for Neo Citron's gentle might,
To soothe the throat, and ease the night.

Beneath the weight of day's demands,
With aching body, shaking hands.
Work piles high, support but lean,
In this relentless, waking dream.

Bound to bed, the day slips by,
Underneath a leaden sky.
Dreading the morrow's same refrain,
A cycle of toil, a dance with pain.

Clients call with urgent needs,
Reports to write, no time to breathe.
The boss away, the burden grows,
In this tempest, a lone rose.

How to weather this endless storm?
To find some peace, some semblance warm.
The night looms long, a daunting sea,
How does one in darkness, free?

Retreat, retreat, beneath the covers' fold,
A sanctuary from demands so bold.
For now, let go, release the fight,
The world can wait, just for tonight.

Today, I reflect on my grandfather's bravery in World War I and II. Beyond the battles, his life is a story of resilience. He carried the scars of war, including shrapnel wounds in his head and knees that were a lifelong reminder of his sacrifice.

In World War II, he again fought for freedom. His efforts helped shape a peaceful world, not for glory, but for a better future for us all.

His legacy is one of courage and sacrifice, a reminder that our freedoms were hard-won. His selfless contribution inspires us to uphold the values he fought for.

To my grandfather and his fellow heroes, your sacrifices will never be forgotten. You have shaped who we are.
