I’d like to thank Manitoba Horse Trials for asking me to give a Cross Country clinic at the beautiful Birds Hill Park on Saturday. Had a great time with so many horse/rider combinations. Everyone did so well with lots of improvements made, advice given along with homework to take home with them to work on. Everyone along with myself had a great time. Thank you so much again MHT. I look forward to doing it again sometime. 😊

Educational post for Lyme Disease. One of my horses here just tested positive for Lyme Disease. 24 years of being here. Not the set up desired for the abundance of deer ticks. We know they’re everywhere. We have a positive. Nothing I did wrong. Nothing my horse did wrong. I’ve never seen these “tiny” ticks they call Deer Ticks. So I thought. Kansas when competing in the spring. Wisconsin. Other U.S. states while competing. Always told “They’re just the babies (Hatchlings) of wood ticks”. No! They are not. I’ve learned that this week. Those tiny ones the size of a pen dot on paper are Deer Ticks!! Young Woodticks are small but not that small. I’ve attached pictures for educational purposes. One of my cats for the past 1 1/2 weeks I’ve been picking these tiny (I thought babies) ticks off. How’d I see them? He’s a light tan. Only reason. I’ll tell you right now. You will be hard pressed to find these on a horse or a dark colored dog. On yourself? Easily mistaken for a tiny mole. I’ve attached lots of pictures to try and give insight of the true size of how tiny they are. Horse is being treated and Lyme vaccines will now be given here annually on all my horses and those boarders that choose. I’ve honestly never seen all these deer ticks here ever until now. I can only imagine how bad they are in their ideal environments. Any experiences people want to share please do!! This is good education for us all!

It’s always been a pleasure working with Rhonda when designing all my custom bonnets. I look forward to the next ones! If you’re looking for anything specific I recommend you message Rhonda. She’ll help you out! 😊❤️

For those wondering how horses see colours? This shows and many of you have heard me emphasize how Red is the worst colour for them. You can see that right here.
