We have an OLS order going in within the next few days - this will be our only fall order. Next order after this will likely be in the new year (approximately end of January delivery).

The OLS plant is not offering a discount or sale this year, so WE are personally going to offer our customers a $5/tub discount on orders of 12 or more 200lb tubs, Picked Up at our location - THIS ORDER ONLY.

OLS ORDER GOING IN!

We finally got our updated price list from the plant. Unfortunately the increase that they warned us about was a little more more significant than we expected.

The plant is not offering a fall sale. So Aaron and I have decide to offer $5 a tub discount for a purchases over 12 tubs and Picked up in our yard. We are going to place an order by Oct 4. Please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to order

If you would like to discuss less expensive options, but also lesser quality (more of a protein tub than a mineral tub), similar to those products available else where in Canada, OLS does have similar options. We’d be happy to discuss these formulations with you.

We only have a couple of cow tubs left (literally, 2 #9’s), and a few options of horse tubs in 50, 100 or 200lb sizes, if you missed the order and are feeling left out. Please let us know before they’re gone. This is it until September.

I’m sure this notice comes as no surprise to any of you, but with unstable commodity prices, and fuel / freight going up, we are going to put in our final order of the spring ahead of a price increase. We need a reply ASAP if you will need mineral, as we have volume buyers that would like to take advantage of the savings. Please get back to us today if possible. These will be summer bake. As we gear up for our first big order of the fall, I regret to inform any customers from a distance away wishing to order, that we will need orders prepaid. Our profit margin is quite small on the OLS. If you think of it, we need to sell more than 90% of our load, before we see any profit. If 20% of that portion isn’t paid for, profit is too low to continue selling this product. We don’t want to hike our prices to account for that one person that has ruined it for everyone, but we need some security. We’ve been sitting on an unpaid bill since May 2 🥲 ,and we have bills of our own to pay!

That being said, we have MANY great customers from all over, that are prompt with payment and pick up, and understand how we make our prices work. AND WE APPRECIATE YOU ALL!!

Stay tuned - I know lots of you are ready to order, but I’m hoping that the OLS TON SALE comes out, so we can maximize on that and save you all a little $$$.

We ordered extra 50lb #8, High Performance Equine OLS pails. We will be in Brooks tonight and tomorrow, Wainwright later today (Saturday), Lloyd on Monday, and Stettler next weekend if anyone needs any.

Had some #9 Bovine Breeder, 200lb ordered and they are not yet paid for or picked up, so they are available to purchase. Pick up here at our place. Moved under shelter before the storm. Summer bake. $207. Future price on these will be atleast $3-5 more per tub due to our costs going up on future orders. Would love to see them gone ASAP.

Fun Fact!

OLS offers a biodegradable tub for the 250 lb size of any CA blends. (CA meaning those registered in Canada 🇨🇦). If you are like us and repurpose your empty tubs as storage bins, water troughs, planters, etc, etc, no problem. But if you use the the OLS tubs, especially in range conditions, and don’t want to be chasing after the empties all over your pasture, this may be a useful option. Let us know how we can help.

Just had this conversation with a friend. He wanted us to provide pricing on a tub with a good mineral package. Not really after the protein, but just good quality vitamin/mineral. This is how the numbers play out and why you can’t just compare price per pound when shopping the low moisture lick tub market!!!
.So, the OLS #18, we call a range tub and is the most economical and best suited to compliment good forage (pasture or hay). It would retail from me for $252. Your brand of tub is $195. BUT THE REASON OLS IS STILL MORE COST EFFECTIVE IS CONSUMPTION RATE!!! Our consumption rate is 0.25-0.3 lbs per head per day. Your brand of tub is 0.75 lbs per head per day. What that means is that the cost per head per day on our tub will be about $0.25 to $0.30, whereas Your TUB will be $0.585 per head per day. Plus ours has a better A, D, E package, amaferm, & chelated minerals, meaning they they are more soluble and utilized in the animal better than mined minerals. Our tubs are baked for climate and consumption control where others are not. This needs to be a consideration.
