At 10 weeks old Yuji is a learning sponge. At this age puppies' brains are developing at an amazing rate. With every waking moment they are taking in information about this brand new world they just landed in.

It makes sense puppy attention spans are short and they need LOTS of sleep. Having puppy on a routine is very important for their development (and your sanity). Sleep, potty, play & learn, potty. On repeat.

Another happy student who loves playing training games. Honey was so excited to get to her lesson she bolted from the car (a first) and came flying through the door.

The Best part: she didn't come flying at ME. Honey is full of enthusiasm for life and her humans have been working very hard to channel that joy and keep her paws on the ground. She did it!

She immediately put that happy, wiggly botty of hers on the ground and kept it there. We are all very proud of her.

I've had an awesome week already and it's only wednesday. So many great success stories including Milo.

Milo has struggled with managing big emotions and and his tiny person has struggled with managing him. On our real-world practice we had a chance to see just how far Team Milo has come. It was a challenging area for him and Team Milo were rock stars. I'm SO proud of them.

Success! With some gentle insistence Titan agrees to move with his human. They're learning to move together, to be in sync. Titan and his human are making such great progress. 🎉 Loose leash walking doesn't come naturally, it's in direct opposition to a dog's nature, but this is what relationship and skill building can do.

I'm thrilled with how well Team Maive's progress. Looks at that connection and responsiveness. 🎉

Lillard has thoughts he needs to share and I couldn't be happier. When I first met him Lillard wasn't interested in more than basic human connection. Nailed it! Daichi, a recent adoptee, is quickly developing a strong relationship with his person but he's still a bit shy about being reached toward or getting too close. He'll learn faster if he's not worried so we'll build Daichi's confidence by teaching a Touch cue with a neutral object to start. It takes only a few reps for this lovely little pup to learn new training games and he absolutely loves them. You can see his enthusiasm in this video. #chihuahuacross

I'm so proud of this team! Just look at that connection. When I met her Winnie was a young, rambunctious, very distractible pup, the quintessential "handful" of unrestrained adolescence exuberance. Winnie is now a young, rambunctious, exuberant, and well mannered pup and has a fantastic connection with her human. That's a #winwin for training without punishment! We've worked together to channel Winnie's enthusiasm From Distracted to Focused without any need to punish her into obedience.
